Escape to a peaceful natural setting at The Pine, a beautiful log cabin nestled on the shores of Lake McGregor in Val-des-Monts, Outaouais — just 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa. This cozy retreat offers the best of both worlds: easy access to the city's attractions, markets, and restaurants, while giving you the tranquility of nature right at your doorstep. The village of Perkins is only 10 minutes away, offering a grocery store, SAQ, restaurants, cafés, and all the essentials you may need during your stay. Welcoming up to 8 guests (maximum 6 adults), the cottage features a warm and inviting atmosphere with its indoor fireplace (firewood included), large lake-facing windows, and direct access to a private dock. Whether you're relaxing in the 4-season hot tub, enjoying a quiet sunrise paddle, or sipping your morning coffee on the deck, you'll feel instantly at home. Inside, you'll find three comfortable bedrooms — two on the upper floor and one on the main level — providing both privacy and space for everyone. The primary bedroom includes a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom is ideal for groups or families with four beds: 2 twin and 2 twin XL. The two twin XL beds can also be combined to form a king, providing added flexibility for different group needs. With two full bathrooms across two floors and a walk-out basement that opens directly toward the lake, the layout is ideal for both relaxation and convenience, whether you're staying with family or friends. Each season brings something special:
- Summer turns the lake into your playground with swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and sunbathing on your private dock.
- Winter invites you to snowmobile right from the property, explore cross-country ski trails at Nakkertok or Gatineau Park, or visit nearby ski hills and snow-tubing sites — before ending your day with a hot-tub soak under the stars.
- Fall offers stunning autumn colours and peaceful hikes in nearby trails and villages.
Everything is provided for a hassle-free stay: a fully equipped kitchen, bedding and towels, BBQ, outdoor firepit (firewood included), Xbox 360, foosball table, and high-speed internet — perfect for remote work.
The Pine is the ideal place to disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with nature, whether you're planning a family getaway or a relaxing weekend with friends — all without giving up comfort.

| We stayed at The Pine Cottage for a week in July 2026, and it was an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside getaway.
The owners struck the perfect balance of being communicative, helpful, and available whenever needed, while also giving us the space to enjoy our vacation uninterrupted.
The cottage itself is stunning, with plenty of room for family and friends to gather, both indoors and outdoors. The variety of outdoor living spaces made it easy to spend long days enjoying the surroundings. The property was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed.
We especially appreciated the many extras provided by the owners, including firewood and high-quality life jackets. The cottage also comes with paddleboards, kayaks (including children's kayaks), and a pedal boat, which allowed us to make the most of our time on the lake.
The only thing I would note for future renters is that swimming directly off the end of the dock wasn't ideal for us, as the water is relatively shallow with a muddy bottom. However, the cottage has a fantastic floating raft that provides a great place to relax and enjoy the water. Just keep in mind that you won't be diving off the dock into deep water. Those with children will likely appreciate the shallow beach entry.
Overall, this is a beautiful, well-appointed cottage with attentive owners, and we would gladly stay here again.
