We are happy to share this mid-century gem with you and your family to make memories for a lifetime. During the summer months, we restrict rentals to weekly, from Friday to Friday. The property is perfect for 2 families, a family with grandparents joining, or families with older kids/ teens who want more freedom.
Escape on Little K features a main cottage with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom, along with the primary kitchen and living/dining room; the bunkie offers two bedrooms and one bathroom with a kitchenette and secondary living room. A peaceful lakefront getaway on Little Kennisis Lake, this cottage sits on 0.72 acres with 245 feet of private shoreline. With treetop views, year-round road access, and a cozy, modern layout, it's the perfect blend of comfort and nature.
We are a 5 min drive to Haliburton Forest and their long list of activities, and the licensed Cookhouse Restaurant. A public boat launch is 100m down the road and Kennisis Lake Marina is just 3 min away for all your boating needs.
The key design of this cottage embraces the spectacular view of the lake from within the lovely open living room and dining area, while nesting in the trees. The kitchen area is a bit removed from the action but not entirely isolated. Three bedrooms with new mattresses, wood slat walls and wood floors, plus a four piece washroom finish the floorspace. All linens and bath towels are provided for your stay. All on one level, the cottage is well suited to all ages. You'll have full access to the main cottage. If you've rented during the non-winter months, you'll also have access to the bunkie (loft) above the garage.

Three skylights in the living room offer plenty of daylight especially as the sun is setting. The fieldstone gas fireplace adds warmth to the rooms, both physical and visual, in just minutes. The newly built wrap-around deck with Invisirail glass railings do not impede on the views.
The kitchen is well appointed with appliances, utensils and dish towels. The fridge, stove, and built-in dishwasher are all in good working order. A toaster, coffee maker, and microwave are available for guests. There are ample dishes, cups, and glasses to last for days. Smaller utensils included are: measuring spoons, cork screw, cheese grater, bodum (french press), kids plates + cutlery, etc. If there's something you can't live without, please message us and we'll let you know if it's already there.
The cozy living room is furnished with comfortable seating, smart tv, and Disney+. We also have Bell Fibe for those of you working remotely.
We have a UV Water Filter so all water from taps is clean, we also have Brita water jugs if you prefer to use that. A barbecue is just outside, propane included.
To the south of the cottage, our fire pit is ready for enjoyable evenings under a canopy of lights and stars. Please use responsibly. Wood can be purchased on your way in at the Haliburton Forest.
We have parking for approx. 5 vehicles plus room for more if needed. The main driveway is in front of the garage, with some steps down to the main cottage. Once inside the cottage there are no stairs and wood floors.

NOTES Please note that regretfully we can not permit more than 10 guests, due to municipality by-laws. Your group must be 10 or less, including babies. We permit up to two dogs. Any more than that and the pet fee will be $250. Due to severe allergies, cats are not permitted at the cottage. All dogs must be trained to relieve themselves outside only and must not damage any furniture.
