A late cancellation means there is one August week left for your perfect family getaway (August 16-23)! This comfortable home is located in a quiet bay on Clear Lake with gorgeous views of the water and a large deck with hot tub, deep water dock, and an expansive upper lawn for outdoor fun and games. It's truly the best spot to enjoy everything lake life has to offer, from active pursuits to listening to the loons while the stars appear overhead.
Take advantage of the quiet bay for swimming, paddling one of the included small crafts (kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle boards), or trailer your boat to the nearby marina and bring it over to the dock.
This quaint and cozy house includes a first floor great room with fully stocked kitchen, dining area for 8, a wood stove for chilly evenings, and a smart TV ready to stream your favorite shows. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and one full bath: the master bedroom includes a small private balcony with lake views, the long room has two queen beds, and the small room has a twin bed with trundle. There is also a three-season sunroom with a full futon bed.
Outdoors there is a large lawn for games, a fire pit, as well as the deck facing the water with plenty of room for meals or gatherings. There is ample parking for several cars and even room for a small boat trailer. There are two paths down to the lake: a wooded stone path and a winding set of stairs. Please note that the house is not appropriate for guests with limited mobility.
A beloved family home, the house is fully stocked with indoor and outdoor games, puzzles, and books for your enjoyment. We are located on a quiet bay on Clear lake, part of the Rideau waterway system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a swimmer's, boater's, and nature-lover's paradise. We're connected to two neighboring lakes by short channels you can canoe through, and connected by a series of locks to lakes throughout the Rideau system. You can take your boat from the house all the way to Ottawa or even Montreal! There is a boat launch nearby and a dock available at the house.
Closer to home, sit on the deck and listen to the loons, watch the hummingbirds, hike the neighboring roads or bike the nearby Cataraqui Trail. Or walk down to the dock and read with your feet in the water.
Groceries, shops and restaurants can be easily accessed in nearby Elgin and Westport. Whether you love swimming in the famously clear waters, fishing for perch and lake trout, waterskiing, tubing, or paddling the lakes, this spot is a perfect fit.
