Cute and luxurious little waterfront cottage on Howes Lake surrounded by our nearly 20 acre maple "sugar bush". Relax on the deck, dock or at the firepit. Spacious lawn area for the kids to play. Bring your boat and enjoy fishing for walleye/ pickerel and small mouth bass or paddling your canoe on clean, clear, calm Howes Lake. You can also navigate your boat onto Verona Lake from Howes Lake.
For the swimmers, we are on a shallow bay off the main lake. There is a gradual entry from the shore for young children. Water depth from the end of the dock is about 4 to 4.5 feet deep and then 7 to 8 feet in the bay before dropping off in the main lake.
Inside you will have two bedrooms on the main floor, one with queen bed and the other with bunk beds (single over double) plus another double bed upstairs in the loft. Caveat: As of June 22 the bunk beds ordered in April have not yet arrived. When inquiring about availability, let me know how many in your group with their ages and I will come up with a sleeping solution that meets your satisfaction.
There is one bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is well equipped and finished to a high quality. Everything is new in 2022: fridge over freezer, oven & stovetop, microwave, dishwasher and double sink. Granite counter-top with peninsula seating for three. Dishes, glasses, cookware are provided and other appliances include Keurig K-cup coffee maker, toaster, blender and kettle. Gas BBQ and dining table are out on the deck.
There is high speed internet and a smart TV for you to stream your entertainment services.
Indoor towels and bed linens/blankets are provided. Please bring your own outdoor towels and beach blankets.
Neither pets nor indoor smoking are permitted.
Guests will receive a bottle of maple syrup produced on the property (while supplies last).
The cottage will normally not be air conditioned, but if A/C is needed, I can install a temporary A/C in the loft for an additional fee. The cottage is well insulated and winterized, including heated tile floor in the bathroom, for year round availability.
Water in the cottage is pumped in from the lake, microfiltered and UV treated, so is safe for drinking and cooking.
Location is less than 10 minutes from the village of Verona, with grocery stores, pharmacy, LCBO/Beer Store, restaurants and Rivendell Golf Course. Cottage is family owned with owners living less than 15 minutes away should any assistance be required.
