Small footprint. Big personality. Named for the bird you'll hear at dusk.
The Whippoorwill is for people who understand that a cottage doesn't need to be large to be the perfect escape. Tucked into the property with its own quiet character, this two-bedroom charmer sleeps up to five and delivers the full cottage experience in a cozy, intimate package.
The outdoor shower is the detail guests remember most, there's something genuinely freeing about rinsing off after a day on the lake with nothing but trees and sky above you. Paired with a private indoor toilet and access to a private single-occupancy shower suite up the hill, it's rustic done right, not rustic done rough.
A pullout couch adds flexibility for a fifth guest, and the shared waterfront access, with a boat launch, marina-style docking for rent, and waterfront chairs, The Whippoorwill punches well above its size.

2 bedrooms (queen + twin), sleeps 5
Pullout couch
Outdoor shower
Indoor toilet in cottage
Private indoor shower suite access up the hill (single occupancy)

Priced to be your best-value week of the summer.
Set within a private 40-acre lakeside property surrounded by mature trees and green space, shared with a small quiet seasonal community of 40 sites. Think resort-style amenities — on-site fuel, marina-style docking, and a boat launch, a designated shared swimming area with both shallow and deep sections — all steps from your cottage door. Guests can access both Crow Lake and Bobs Lake by boat, both of which are known for excellent fishing and swimming. The clear, spring-fed waters of Crow Lake are home to walleye, bass, pike, and lake trout. A fish cleaning house is provided on-site for convenience. Adventurous guests can take their boat to the Crow Lake Cliffs for cliff jumping.
There is a small town, Sharbot Lake, just 20 minutes away that has a grocery store, small cafe, LCBO and Beer Store, public beach, and a few locally owned restaurants.
Dogs are more than welcome at Browns Campground! We just ask that you keep the dogs on leash when on the grounds or gated on your personal deck, as well as cleaning up after them to keep the space usable for all. We even have a special area for your furry friends to cool off in the lake (please keep dogs on a leash when outside the cottage).
