Resting on the shores of a crystal-clear lake at the foot of a majestic mountain, this property has two fully equipped, four-season cabins. It is situated in one of the most scenic regions of Northern Ontario that The Group of Seven immortalized in their paintings. The region is also among the top ten places in North America for pickerel fishing. Both cabins on this property, at once unassuming and striking, were built by an accomplished, beloved local builder who applied his unique art and craftsmanship to the ancient technique of timber-frame construction in the Algoma region. A monumental fireplace, large windows and the cathedral ceiling of the main cabin create a pleasing space in which one can restore from the pressures of everyday life. A wood burning stove, many windows and smart organization of the space in the guest cabin create a feeling of coziness - 'cozy' being a concept of living that originates in northern European cultures (Denmark, Norway, Scotland?) and that means something like "snug, comfortable, warm." The main cabin sits atop a gentle, grassy slope above a private (gravel and sand) lakeshore beach. It can accommodate comfortably 8 people. The first floor is an open concept area, consisting of a living room with large picture windows, two comfy couches, a fireplace and a TV; a dining table for eight, and a large kitchen. A deck, surrounded by trees and with a view of the lake and the mountain, furnished with patio furniture and propane bbq, is accessible from the living and dining room area. There are three bedrooms on the first floor (main cabin): - a master bedroom (queen-size bed) and a 3-piece en suite bathroom; - a middle bedroom (queen size bed) - a back bedroom (two double-size beds) - a spacious 3-piece bathroom.
Wheelchair accessible: the ramp at the entrance to the cabin, a spacious bathroom and three bedrooms on the main floor, along with the shared living areas (kitchen, living & dinind room).
Loft area: - A bedroom (queen size bed) - a TV viewing area.
Working from the cottage? There are three office desks in the cottage, and a fast-speed internet
Home entertainment: Cable TV, streaming (through your own account), a selection of books, DVDs, and board games for all ages. Bring your own music to connect to Bluetooth speakers. There is no radio connection, but cell phone connection (through your own provider) tends to be reliable.
Guest cabin: Situated a short, wooded trail away from the private beach. It can accommodate comfortably 4 people. The first floor is an open concept area with a living room, a cozy eat-in kitchen. Accessible from the living and dining area is an inviting walk-out deck surrounded by trees, with a patio dining set and a propane barbecue. Also located on the first floor is a 3-piece bathroom. There are two bedrooms on the second-floor: one with a queen-sized bed, and another with two twin-sized beds. A small loft area has an additional bed. There are two TVs in the small cabin, with a DVD player and a selection of cable TV channels. Internet reception in the guest cabin is at best sketchy.
Both kitchens (the main and the guest cabin kitchen) are fully equipped with cookware, utensils, kitchen towels, dishes, and a dishwasher, and supplied with the cooking basics (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and a good selection of spices).
A traditional wood-fired cedar sauna is next to the woodshed.
On the shore, there are Muskoka-style chairs, a wooden picnic table, and a fire pit. A selection of paddles, oars and a few additional beach toys are in the blue shed on the beach. In the Summer, visitors can engage in a variety of water recreational activities, stroll on the hiking trails, and shop for fresh organic produce and locally made products from area farms, including a couple of alpaca farms. There are many lakes and waterfalls throughout the wider Algoma region to be discovered, including the Aubrey Falls Provincial Park with its hiking trails (50 minutes drive from the cottage). In the Fall, hiking trails and breath-taking views of mountains, lakes and rivers amid the changing foliage make it worthwhile visiting the region. Given the right conditions, you might be able to catch the Northern Lights! (https://www.northernontario.travel/algoma-country/auroras-in-algoma).

| Our stay at the cottage was truly wonderful. The cottage buildings themselves are lovely and comfortable, beautifully finished with wooden beams everywhere and equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a fireplace and two barbecues--gas and coal. The large lawn leads down to a sloping beach where we enjoyed swimming, snorkelling, paddling, and roasting marshmallows over an open fire. The view from both the beach and the house is breath-taking! We could see the cliff of Rock Candy Mountain, which glowed with unbelievable colours during sunset.
The cottage is also well located! We found nearby trails to explore, climbing Rock Candy mountain to gain beautiful views. The nearby trading post had essentials and special, unexpected gifts, and we came across nearby farms with fresh vegetables and delicious baked goods.
The only thing lacking was more time to explore and enjoy! We definitely want to return.

| My family and I would like to thank Sanda and Victor for the wonderful time that we spent at your cottage. Sanda is really proactive and was able to answer all our questions before our departure. The cottage is well-appointed and super clean. We really enjoyed relaxing in the living in front of the great fireplace. The view of the lake and the cliff from the cottage allowed us to unwind. We will definitely come back. Thank you! Muchas gracias!
