| For the last 15 years, my family has made it a tradition to get together for one special weekend every year. We've stayed in countless cottages, visited different towns, and tried all kinds of vacation spots, but nothing ever felt quite right or became our annual destination.
That changed this year.
We've finally found the perfect getaway. The location is ideal, splitting the travel time nicely for family coming from different directions. The cottage was perfect for our large group, with 6 bedrooms, plenty of space for everyone, and everything we needed for a great family weekend.
The property was spotless, well maintained, and packed with things to do. Between the games, outdoor spaces, and thoughtful touches throughout, everyone—from the adults to the kids—had an amazing time. One of the highlights for our young children was the shallow beach access, which made it easy and safe for them to enjoy the water.
What really puts this place over the top is the owner. Dan was fantastic to deal with—friendly, responsive, accommodating, and genuinely cared that we had a great stay.
We've already started talking about next year's trip, and for the first time in 15 years, we've found a place we hope to return to year after year. Highly recommended.

| This was my fourth time staying at Dan's retreat 2, and each time it gets better and better.
This last stay was with multiple families, all with young kids. We had so much space, both inside and outside for the kids to both play and get much needed down time. The kitchen is quite large and well equipped. Outside is absolutely amazing with beach toys, lawn games, water sports, a hot tub, swings and a view that is endless.
The upgrade to the firepit that was completed last year is stunning and makes that area much more comfortable evening during the day to sit and watch the lake.
Mazinaw is a beautiful lake to explore and having Dan's place as a homebase makes the experience that much better, Can't wait to head back in September!

| Dan was an incredible host during a very stressful time for our family. After a flood in our home, we needed a place to stay for five weeks, and this cottage was absolutely perfect for us.
The space was large, comfortable, and extremely well equipped for a long-term stay. Honestly, all we needed to bring was our clothes and food — everything else was already there. As a family of seven with kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers, space was really important to us, and this place delivered. There were plenty of bedrooms, lots of room for everyone to spread out, and activities to keep the kids busy.
The on-site laundry was a huge bonus for a long stay, and the large yard gave the kids plenty of room to play in the snow. The hot tub was also a highlight and very appreciated after such a stressful situation.
The cottage itself is warm, cozy, and has a beautiful log-home feel that made it easy to settle in and feel comfortable.
Dan was fantastic to deal with — whenever we had a question, he responded quickly and always had a solution right away. His communication and support made our stay even better.
We are incredibly grateful for the comfortable home base during a difficult time and would absolutely recommend staying here.

| Dan's chalet is exceptional! We selected it for an extended family get together half way between Ottawa and Toronto. The 6 spacious and well-appointed rooms were appreciated by all. Common areas were very comfortable and roomy. We had two little ones with us so the built-in baby gates were an excellent added touch. The hot tub and view over the lake was divine. Would definitely return!

| This was our first time staying at GlenCanmon Retreat. Six of us stayed in cottage #2 . I felt like a kid at Christmas when we pulled onto the property, it was stunning inside and out. Dan was wonderful to deal with and we definitely will book again in the future.
