2027 Dates open in September 2026. NOTE: click Read More Button below to read all info. Overview: Gunter Lake Cottage features 4+1 bedrooms. The 2nd floor loft (curtained) is used as the 5th bedroom. The cottage also features a large open concept living room, dining room & huge kitchen with 2 full sized fridges & a large pantry. Large outdoor decks also provide dining & living spaces. The waterfront area features a sandy beach as well as a dock & a swim platform. Great open concept cottage large enough to entertain family, friends & pets! Relatively flat property - the only steps are from deck to grass. Pets love our 1500+ sq ft fenced in backyard. NEW: A/ C units in living room & bedrooms.
Bedrooms:
The cottage sleeps 10+. There are 4 bedrooms & a loft which acts as a 5th bedroom - it can be closed off with floor to ceiling curtains. Freshly laundered Bed Linens/Pillows/Blankets are provided & cleaned by our cleaner at no cost. NEW: A/C units in each bedroom.

Kitchen:
All modern conveniences including 2 full side Fridges with Freezers, Stove, Dishwasher (soap included), Microwave, Brew Coffee Maker w/filters, Kettle, Keurig, Coffee Press, Toaster, Blender, Griddle, Immersion Blender, Waffle Maker, Air Fryer, Air Popcorn Maker, Cutlery, Knives, Plates, Serving Bowls, Spices, etc.
Dining Room:
Large table seats 8 plus 2 more at the kitchen breakfast bar. There are also 2 extra dining room chairs if you want to squeeze in 10 around the table!
Living Room:
Large seating area with a large sectional couch and 3 arm chairs. This room also features a Wood burning Fireplace (firewood included) & a Flat Screen TV with Satellite TV, PVR with 200+ Movies, DVD player (limited Movies), Roku w/accounts for Netflix, Crave & Prime, a Bose Stereo (aux cable/bluetooth) to connect your media. The room also features vaulted ceilings. We have a huge selection of books & board/card games. This room has a window A/C unit.
Loft:
Located on the 2nd floor overlooking the main living areas. Privacy curtains, when closed, allow this loft to act as a 5th bedroom. The loft features a tv, DVD and game consoles including atari flashback & wii (limited games for both systems). Free unlimited wifi (Starlink) is included to keep up with your social media accounts or emails! This area has a Futon couch set up as a double bed with mattress topper, as well as a loveseat.
Laundry Room / Bathrooms:
For your convenience, we have on site laundry (soap & dryer sheets included). Both bathrooms are on the main floor. One is a powder room (toilet & sink) / laundry room. The other has a shower, toilet & sink. (Total of 1.5 bathrooms). Septic safe toilet paper is included. Towels available no extra charge.
Screened Porch:
Features an outdoor loveseat & 4 chairs + a couple folding & camping chairs. There is a dart board in this screened porch area as well as a skeeball game. Outdoor games (yardzee, cornhole, etc) are on the shelves in this room. Great views of the lake from here. Also features a radio & Mini Drink Fridge + a cooler (just outside) for all your drinks.
Outdoor Decks:
Large wrap around outdoor decks feature an outdoor living room with a loveseat & 6 chairs. An elevated dog bed is on this deck too. Views of the lake. The Propane BBQ (unlimited gas included) & outdoor dining is also on this deck. We have a huge 10ft outdoor dining table that seats 10 on the side deck with string solar lights. The free firewood is stored on the deck (under tarp to keep it dry), on driveway side & down by the firepit - attached to the lifejacket shed. The decks have wood screens that can block off the staircases for safety if you want to keep pets or children from leaving the deck area.
Beach Area:
The cottage is set back from the water for extra privacy but it's a short 1 min walk across a relatively flat grassy area (past the firepit!) to reach the water. The waterfront features a sandy beach area with walk in water access that's perfect for dogs, children & seniors. The beach area also has a dock with 6 retro chairs & a number of water toys including a canoe, an aluminum oar boat, 5 stand up paddle boards, 5 kayaks, a pedal boat & inflatables. There is also a firepit close by to the beach for roasting marshmallows & nightly campfires. Unlimited Free Firewood! The lifejackets & paddles are in the firewood storage shed near the firepit. There is a Hammock under the trees with views of the lake. The dock faces south for lots of sunshine. There is also a picnic table with bench seating and an umbrella down in the beach area. And an 8 seat picnic table by the firepit. A short swim from our dock, you will find our swim raft. Want to bring your own boat? Let us know. There is a free boat launch (2km away) & storage for a boat trailer beside the entrance to our driveway.
Pets:
We love our furry friends & we know that they have a blast on family vacations to the cottage as well. We happily welcome them however, please cover our furniture (with the sheets provided) just in case they jump up! We also ask that you bring their beds with you so that they don't sleep on our beds as a courtesy to other guests. And of course, clean up after them in the yard. Please also ensure that they stay on our property & don't wander onto the neighbour's properties.
"The Backyard"
We have created an awesome 1500+ sq. ft. of leash free, fenced in area behind the cottage, just off the driveway. Please feel free to let your dogs play & have fun in here but please do not leave them unattended. Also a great spot for volleyball, badminton, etc.
Housekeeping:
To make the cottage enjoyable for all we have a cottage housekeeper that comes in & cleans the cottage between uses. She will make the beds with fresh sheets before your arrival. You are still responsible for leaving the cottage relatively clean (including returning chairs, watercrafts, games, etc. to their proper locations) but you don't have to sweep, mop, clean the toilet, etc as she will take care of all of that! The cost of cleaning is included in the rental. Note: You must take all garbage & recycling with you - either to the local dump or home with you. We provide the required clear garbage bags & bag tags (if going to the dump).
Location:
Located on private 80+ft of beach, about 2.5 to 3 hours from Toronto & Ottawa. Just over 1 hour north of Belleville & about 40 minutes south of Bancroft. Closest LCBO is St. Ola's (approx. 20 minutes away). Rustic Restaurant is 20 minutes away. Grail Springs Spa is 40 minutes away. 3 Golf courses 40 minutes away.
Misc:
* Bed Linens are provided as is dish soap, dishwasher tabs, hand soap, laundry soap, paper towels, napkins, kleenex & most importantly septic friendly toilet paper + firewood. You can bring your own towels (bath, beach & kitchen) OR borrow & wash ours.
* The water from all taps is 100% drinkable. It's sourced from our drilled well (not the lake). It is triple filtered (Carbon+UV+Kinetico Powerline Pro). There is a small water dispenser available though if you prefer to bring up your own 15 to 18 litre jugs (attachment is in the laundry room)
* We are on septic so only bring septic friendly items.
* Smoking/Vaping is permitted outside only (Not in the house or in the attached screen porch). Empty & clean any ashtrays (stored in screen porch) before leaving (take cigarette butts with you)

| We loved this cottage! We have been renting cottages for the past 10 years, and this cottage has been the most thoughtful place we've ever rented! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need, from air fryer to blender! Lots of kayaks, SUPs, and other water activities. Very pet friendly, which was a must for us. Earplugs needed for light sleepers in the loft and 5th bedroom upstairs, but even those were provided! The cottage really felt like you were at home with lots of conveniences :)

| The "cottage" (not a McMansion) felt warm, cozy, well enjoyed, well maintained and well loved, EXACTLY AS EXPECTED! Perfect for my four generation family that stayed there. It had a large and wonderful collection of cottage "kitsch" including well read books, toys (lawn and water floaties) board games and nick-knacks. It had every conceivable cooking device for kitchen, BBQ and campfire c/w a lovely sand beach, dock and lawn. ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL, LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT !!!!

| Our family recently stayed at Gunter Lake cottage and we could not have been happier with our accommodations. From the start communication with Eileen was prompt and professional - she made sure that all contracts were signed and our reservation secured with ease. Eileen had everything prepared for our arrival and welcome treats greeted us! The cottage was spacious for our large group - 8 adults and 2 babies - and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of paddle boards and kayaks for the whole group to enjoy on the lake as the weather was unseasonably warm for October. There was a very well stocked kitchen, lots of games and books for enjoyment and a TV for those who had to watch the Blue Jays game!!! The Skee Ball game saw lots of action in friendly family challenges. I would not hesitate to stay at Gunter Lake Cottage again. If you are looking for a clean, well appointed cottage for rest or family fun - this is the place for you.
