EKKS COTTAGE VACATION RENTAL IN BEAUTIFUL HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS EAST!!!! Come & escape everyday stress & enjoy nature at relaxing & private EKKS Cottage in Haliburton Highlands East!! EKKS Cottage is situated on beautiful Glamor Lake Road on a private, wooded 2 acre lot & is a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to Glamor & Little Glamor Lakes. There you will find a quaint sandy beach & picnic area as well as a boat launch. Portable washrooms are available there. You can have the best of both worlds....such a close drive to the lake but not right on the lake for peace & quiet & peace of mind for small children not having access to the water. Cottage comes fully equipped with all the kitchen essentials (fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster & all pots/ pans, dishes, cutlery etc).
Cottage contains a 3 piece bathroom with a shower.
Main bedroom consists of a queen size bed with a walkout balcony to enjoy the view with morning coffee or tea. The 2nd bedroom consists of 2 single beds. The living rooms consists of a queen pull out sofa.
There is a selection of movies to enjoy on the 32 inch flat screen TV/DVD player in the living room as well as a selection of books & board games. Internet access is available if you have data. Cell phone reception is excellent!!
There is a small 2nd TV/DVD player & X-box 360 in the 2nd bedroom for less desirable weather or quiet days.
Cottage is heated by a cozy propane fireplace.
There is a large back deck that houses a large 8x12 screen room to enjoy extended bug free space, There is a propane BBQ (propane included in rental fee) for use on the back deck.
There is a large stone fire pit surrounded by muskoka chairs to enjoy. Firewood is also included in the rental fee & is stacked & ready for use.
Depending on the season....there is use of 2 kayaks with paddles, a canoe with paddles & 2 stand up paddle boards with paddles, ALTHOUGH YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN LIFE JACKETS. In the winter months, there is use of snow shoes (2 adult pairs & 2 children pairs), as well as tobaggans.
There is a convenient store that has all the amenities, a gas station & LCBO all located in Gooderham approximately 10 minutes away by car. Haliburton is a 25 minute drive & Kinmount is a 30 minute drive.
Plenty of activities to do in Haliburton Highlands for every season. Some of these activities include the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve (which houses the Wolf Center & organizes dog sledding), the Sculpture Forest, the famous Highlands Cinema in Kinmount, Sir Sam's ski & biking trails, Hawke Lake Log Chute, Furnace Falls, fishing, hiking, sleigh & wagon rides, snowmobiling, tobaganning, snowshoeing, ATVing & much more!!
Clean mattress covers will be provided but you must bring your own pillows/bed linens, dish clothes/towels, bath/beach towels & paper goods (toilet paper/paper towels/Kleenex).
Come & enjoy a relaxing getaway in Haliburton Highlands East & be as busy as you want or simply just enjoy the peaceful quiet cottage!!

| Loved this place!
Was perfect amount of relaxation in the woods with towns still close enough to go grab items.
The lake was just down the road where we walked around, found a natural rock reading nook and had great afternoon. Cottage has a ton of DVD and fireplace makes it extra cozy. Hosts were also extremely communicative and lovely.
Me and my dog will be back for more adventures!

| What a cozy cottage, nice calm area, we had amazing weather to enjoy the outdoors by the fire, the lake is not very far and very nice to picn nic, We were 4 staying for the long weekend and it was just perfect. Kimberly was very helpful with her recommendations. There is a Bakehouse right accross the street that bakes amazing deserts, open only on Saturdays, must go as early as possible.

| What a lovely cottage!
Kim's book is fabulous with lots of details about the cottage and surrounding area. It was a tremendous help given we were unfamiliar with the area. Kim absolutely went out of her way to help.
Our stay (4 adults) was 5 nights and we had a great time! Kim has decorated the cottage in true Canadiana. It is so comfy. One of the guests was from SE Asia and had never experienced Canada, so this was perfect. Just relaxing at the cabin or exploring the area. A few movie nights (a ton of entertainment options for guests to browse). The screened-in porch was wonderful for all our meals that we ate at the cabin, despite a dining area in the cottage. The fire-pit for my two adult son's was a big hit to build a few fires given they were scouts decades ago.
We enjoyed Haliburton on a rainy weekend which just happened to coincide with events in the area such as the Tour De Forest – Summer Artist Studio Tour. We purchased unique items from local artists. The Sculpture forest hike was also fun despite the rain.
The day before we checked out, we had a gorgeous day at Algonquin Park and did several hikes after visiting the displays at the Visitor Centre.
Gooderham is just 8 minutes away and has a store that has most of what you may need. I forgot coffee. (How could one forget coffee ). They have a LCBO and most importantly Kawartha Lake's Ice Cream Cones! (So does Haliburton).
Plan to return this fall to this lovely cabin in the woods!!

| This beautiful cottage is an absolute oasis of calm. It's completely surrounded by mixed pine forest and so, so quiet. I woke up early a couple mornings to hear loon calls echoing through the trees. If you want to step away from the city to unwind, this cottage is perfect.
As soon as you step inside you're hit with the subtle scent of wood - heaven! We were impressed with how clean and tidy everything was on arrival, and loved all the little 'cottagey' decor touches. Everything was in good repair, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you'd ever need.
The weather was a little crazy while we were there, so we enjoyed both the 2nd floor AC while sleeping, as well as the propane fireplace in the living room.
EKK's Cottage also wins the award for, "most DVDs I've ever personally seen in 1 place". There are literally cupboards and drawers full of movies!
The burn ban was lifted at the end of our stay, so we got to enjoy a bonfire. The 'fire ring' is a massive horseshoe of granite and quartzite boulders (so cool!), and there was plenty of dry firewood.
Last but not least, there's a 'cottage survival guide' binder on the coffee table that has absolutely everything you need to know about the cottage and surrounding area...down to restaurant suggestions. So thoughtful and appreciated!
We had such a great time and wouldn't hesitate to come back!

| We were expecting a standard cottage and were pleasantly greeted by a quaint, rustic fully equipped little piece of joy in the woods. Our hosts go above and beyond our expectations. Providing a clean, comfortable and well setup place to stay. We have stayed at 5 star resorts that pale in comparison, Tons of games and dvds for evening enjoyment when the sun goes down. Even with a burn ban in place we were still able to kick back, relax and enjoy a cottage weekend. We all left feeling relaxed, and rejuvinated. Lots of laughs, good times and smiles had by all. We will definitely be return visitors. Thank you Kim and Shaune.
