The Bass Lake cottage is perfection! The cottage itself was immaculate and spacious, with modern but cosy open-concept living, a well-appointed kitchen, and everything we needed to be comfortable and nurtured. Even the couches and beds are comfortable! The view is incredible, with the wall of windows and the deck overlooking the mature trees and lake beyond. With the city and amenities so near, it was the ideal place to get away and just chill out. We'll definitely be back!

I have stayed at Whispering Pines Cottage three times during all seasons, the most recent was in March 2019. Our experience there has been so positive that we keep coming back!! Winter was my favorite it is quiet, calm and relaxing. I especially love the panoramic view of the lake from all rooms through the giant windows and cathedral ceilings. The trees and setting are beautiful and the outside is well maintained. The amenities in the cottage are great upscale renovations, custom finished kitchen and bathroom, whole place is clean and nicely decorated. The cottage is spacious with plenty of room for all guests on both levels. We enjoyed the satellite TV, BBQ, pool table, basketball net and lots of board games to choose from. Perfect vacation for couples or families.

My children and their grandpa enjoyed the stay very much.

All our questions and requests were dealt with fast and efficient. The house is big (renting such a big property for one family was probably an overkill), the lake is magnificent and it's also close to GTA which is a plus. The grocery store (Food Basics) is only couple of minutes away by car.

The only thing that's missing is the AC, but honestly it's more a matter of luck - we hit the place smack in the middle of a heat wave and a chance of that is not big.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Dear Yan,

So nice to hear that you had special family time with your children and grandpa. You are right - Bass Lake is magnificent and the swimming and fishing is amazing every summer! We hope you will join us again soon - perhaps for some skiing during the winter holidays. We appreciated the opportunity to host such a great family.

Cheers,

Stacie at Whispering Pines Cottage

We spent a great week at Whispering Pines cottage this summer - it was our first visit to this property and we were not disappointed!

It was a pleasure dealing with Stacie - she was always available before and during our stay, we definitely felt well taken care of.

We spent most full days in the lake and on the dock - the lake is wonderfully shallow quite far out, but deep enough to swim and float around in the sun. We also made good use of the kayaks at the cottage - the kids loved them.

The cottage itself was very clean, updated and cozy. The kitchen, also updated, is a good size and easy to cook in - this was a great feature of the cottage, not to mention the full sized fridge and dishwasher. Two full, clean, updated bathrooms were a cottage luxury! Finally, the large basement provided enough space for all of the kids to hang out in the evenings - it was also nice and cool down there after our hot days in the sun.

I miss my morning coffee by the lake already and hope to be able to visit again in the future.

Dear Karen,

So nice to hear your family enjoyed your stay at the cottage! We are thrilled that our guests are loving all of the renovations throughout and enjoying the brand new kitchen and bathrooms. You were all wonderful guests and we hope you will come back winter, spring, fall or next summer. Wishing you the best until we see you again soon.

Kindest regards,

Stacie at Whispering Pines Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at the Whispering Pines Cottage this past July. Everything is exactly as promised and the cottage has everything you need to feel at home for a week. The weather was beautiful and the water was so nice and warm. Our little ones were able to swim and play in front of the cottage. The basement was a perfect place to cool off on very hot days, and the new soft carpet was so nice for the baby to crawl around on. My three-year-old son loved the bedroom and the bunk bed that he stayed in. My husband and I very much enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen and the barbecue works wonderfully so we were able to enjoy some really great meals including a fish that my husband caught in the lake - right off the dock!

We also went to a nearby farm/play area for the kids just a 10 minute drive away for a short outing between naps. We would sit down on the dock every night with the baby monitor and watch the sun go down. Also worth noting that we didn't get a single bug bite! A perfect family vacation close to the city.

Nicole,

It was so nice having you return to our cottage again this year. You are right - we are very lucky at our cottage as it is located on a section of Bass Lake with minimal mosquitos! So happy that your young children enjoyed their week and we love having your family join us every year. Looking forward to seeing you again next summer, if not sooner! Best wishes at school.

Sincerely,

Stacie at Whispering Pines Cottage
