A quiet tranquil vacation awaits you when you choose this picturesque cottage. Nestled in a magnificent 23-acre treed lot, you will find a glorious two-acre mowed grassland where, at the centre, sits the log cottage. Gazing from the cottage to the lake, you will be mesmerized by the sparkle of the water through the groomed trees. The property also boasts 900 ft of lake frontage which includes a 200 ft sandy shoreline, and your very own private beach! The 100 ft diameter, circular shaped private beach is an expansive area providing all day sun on fine grain, clean, sand all for your blissful outdoor enjoyment Relax on the beach while reading a book, sunbathing, or making sandcastles with the kids. This wonderful beach experience provides an exhilarating feeling of freedom, while being incredibly soothing and relaxing! The swimming in Bear Lake is also an incredible experience with a gradual entry and no drop-offs, the lake provides a comforting environment to swimmers of all ages or abilities. Nothing compares to swimming in crystal-clear water, with the sun shining on your back and loons hooting in the distance. You can also play on the water; the red swim raft offers a place to soak in the sun, make waves or do cannon balls. The fun on the water does not stop there, you can also take a scenic tour in the canoe, paddle boat, or kayak.
Bear lake is a peaceful lake with no boating connections with other lakes or rivers. The lake is 8 km long
and 5 km wide with many large bays and good fishing including bass, pickerel, and pike. Separate from
the beach area, there is a large dock where you will find a 16 ft aluminum boat with a motorand oars The rental price also includes 1 tank of gas for the boat motor. Please bring your own life jackets. We have some adult size jackets; however, we do not have children size life jackets.
The fully furnished three-bedroom heritage log cottage has modern amenities including air
conditioning. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker,
stainless steel cookware, dishes, and cutlery. The comfortable living room has a couch, love seat, rocking chair,
television, DVD player, a library of DVDs, books, board games and Bell ExpressVu Satellite.
A 160 ft deep drilled well supplies the cottage with cold, clean, and safe drinking water. There is a three-
piece bathroom with antique claw foot tub/shower and plenty of hot water. The master bedroom
upstairs is equipped with a king bed, and a crib. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen and
two single beds. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed. All bedding is supplied.
A permanently installed backup generator supplies uninterrupted enjoyment at the cottage should there
be a power outage.
The cottage also includes:

- Housekeeping and lawn maintenance is done prior to your arrival.
Cellphone reception at the cottage is very good with Bell and Rogers towers nearby.
The cottage has Free WiFi through these cell towers.
The cottage is centrally located between Huntsville, Parry Sound, and Burks Falls.

Our girls enjoyed sunbathing on the beautiful extended sand beach! The water was really nice! Comfy beds, everything we needed for some peace and quiet.

| Our family had a great time at the Cottage on Bear Lake! Denis is a great host. Everything we needed was provided and the cottage was very clean. The beds were comfortable.
Our grandsons thoroughly enjoyed the large sandy beach and gradual lake entry and the whole family loved the kayaks, canoes and paddle boat. Bear Lake is a beautiful lake to paddle on. The water is clear and clean, and there are no reeds at the entry point. There are some reeds a ways out that you have to get past to have a good swim.
We made lots of wonderful family memories and would rent again!

| The cottage has potential due to its location, but unfortunately, our experience was far from ideal.
The check-out requirements were excessive – it felt like we were expected to do a full deep-cleaning job before leaving, despite already paying a cleaning fee. This added unnecessary stress to the end of our stay.
The swimming area was a major disappointment. The water was murky, and the conditions made it unappealing, especially for families hoping to enjoy a safe swim.
To make matters worse, the neighboring properties were very noisy late into the evenings, making it hard to relax or get a good night's sleep.
While the setting of the cottage is nice, the combination of extreme cleaning demands, poor swimming conditions, and lack of peace and quiet makes it hard to recommend this property as it currently stands.

We're always striving to provide a positive and relaxing experience for our guests, so I'm truly sorry to hear that your stay didn't meet your expectations. Regarding the noise: Your early arrival happened to coincide with a neighbour's annual gathering. Although your booking was scheduled to begin the following day, we made an exception to welcome you early. That evening was the only time during the season when outside noise may have been noticeable. Typically, our cottage is known for its quiet, peaceful atmosphere, with neighbours set at a distance to ensure privacy and relaxation. As for the swimming area, we take great care to maintain it. The water is naturally clear, the sand is raked several times a week, and the beach is private and safe—ideal for families. With a gentle entry, no drop-offs, and no weeds, this beach has been a highlight for our guests over the past 45 years. Regarding cleanliness: We don't expect deep cleaning from guests, but we do ask that the cottage be left in reasonably tidy condition. Unfortunately, in this case, several issues were left behind that required additional time and effort to address, including: Garbage left on the porch, which animals rummaged through Canoe and kayak not returned to their proper place Large sticks scattered near the fire pit Greasy substance on the entrance door and glass Frying pans left unwashed and dishes left out Coffee grounds and liquid left in the coffee maker Towels scattered throughout the bathroom Recycling bin left leaking on the floor These conditions went beyond what's considered reasonable, which is why a portion of your security deposit was withheld. As outlined in our rental agreement, the deposit may be used not only for damages, but also for additional cleaning, outdoor maintenance, or unauthorized extended stays. We understand you were disappointed by this decision, but we stand by our policies, which are in place to ensure a great experience for all guests.
