The Beaver Pond Cabin is located on 2 wooded acres, overlooking a small, very quiet spring-fed lake, about 35 minutes (40 km) north of Ottawa off hwy 307, near Saint-Pierre-de-Wakefield. This square-log settlers home (circa 1820) was entirely reconstructed in 1996, carefully retaining its rustic charm. If there is a "theme" here, it might be described as a relaxed re-connection with nature, supplemented by your favorite wines, books, meals, and music. The property is most suitable for one or two couples, or a small family with children of school age. It is not suitable for severely handicapped persons. With pine floors and high ceilings, and nicely furnished with antiques and leather sofas, it makes for a comfortable get-away any time of the year; a nice place just to curl up in front of the fire. Among other things you will find a telephone, a small stereo-radio/ cd player, a piano, a guitar. an eclectic library. NO cutting edge technology!
The kitchen is a good-sized post and beam addition and charming for family meals . It is equipped with a Jenair counter-top and convection-oven, toaster-oven, coffee-maker, microwave, and all necessary utensils. The old refectory table seats 6 comfortably. We request that guests do not smoke inside the cabin.
All necessities are provided for your comfort and convenience. You only need to bring your clothing. Shopping for all provisions is within a 5-10 minute drive in either the village of Saint-Pierre-de-Wakefield or the village of Poltimore.

| What a wonderful place to spend a week of vacation! Beaver Pond cabin is a cozy, historic cabin on a small and beautiful spring fed lake. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and the ambiance of the wood stove in the cool Fall evenings. We made use of the BBQ, the library of interesting books (English and French), board games - and yes, even an excellent piano. The bed couldn't have been more comfortable. Although there is no wifi (which for many of us can provide a welcome respite) there is a good radio system. Any emergency supplies can be picked up at a well-stocked grocery store just a few minutes away.
At this time of year the changing leaves were stunning so we spent lots of time walking - and we hope very much that it will not be long before we can return to this magical place. Thanks Marie-Josee and Luc for your gracious hospitality!

| This was our 4th stay at Beaver Pond Cabin, and we felt at home immediately. Perhaps this year, more than any other, the feeling of familiarity and ease was especially welcome - we quickly settled in to re-connected with nature - the rocks, trees, frogs, turtles, muskrats, and deer! Just what we needed... The only down side is that it's always SO hard to leave!

| Oh my goodness! This was the coziest cottage we have ever stayed in. We spent the whole weekend saying ?This is so beautiful?, ?Wow what a wonderful place?. We didn't want to leave on Sunday. I LOVED my time here. Thank you.

| This was our first time at the Beaver Pond cottage. We have stayed at several other cottages in the area and this one certainly did not disappoint. It was nestled away, quiet and cozy and a perfect little getaway from the city - just what we needed. All the little details that Marie-Josée and Luc put into making their cottage the perfect rustic escape made us feel so comfortable and relaxed and we will absolutely be back without hesitation. Comfortable beds, fresh linens and towels and plenty of books to read, games to play and the kitchen - in my opinion - was the best part. This large open space is perfect for friends to gather, prepare meals, drink wine and enjoy sharing stories and laughs. Loved this place. Thank you so much Marie-Josée and Luc. You are great hosts and very attentive and caring.

| We spent another week at the cottage, and it was just like the first time - calming and peaceful...the surroundings are magical in every season, the lake is full of fish, the bonfires take you away from the XXI century...the kitchen is well-equipped, and the fireplace provides the ambiance you simply do not want to do without.
