Curated luxury lake house on the pristine shores of Kennisis Lake with perfect sunset views in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands.
The designer furnished cottage sits on a flat, sloping property to the original, updated boathouse featuring a shady deck and extensive new dock to enjoy sunsets and water sports. A firepit right next to the lake allows you to take in the sound of the loons as you roast your marshmallows over the fire.
The space:
As you enter the glassed in entryway you are greeted by the central Stuv double-sided wood burning fireplace clad in patinaed steel that can be enjoyed during dinner or while sitting in the living room.
The chef's kitchen features a 36" Bertazzoni range with a custom designed hood, hand painted mosaic and zellige tiles form the backsplash. Enjoy the x-large side by side fridge and freezer to easily store all your cottage snacks and meals. In the morning, treat yourself and guests by creating a perfect cup of coffee at the built-in coffee station .
The primary bedroom features a solid wood spindle King bed and hosts an ensuite spa bath with rain showerhead and hand held nozzle with double sink custom white oak vanity.
The cool lower level features three more bedrooms with polished concrete floors and cozy area rugs. One of the bedrooms has 12 feet of windows overlooking the lake so you can cuddle in the King sized bed to watch the sunset and can even view the stars before you fall sleep.
The other King bedroom on the lower level also boasts a lake view and is tucked away and private for those who prefer some quiet time.
The bunk bedroom features two Queen beds with two XL Twin mattresses above. A caged fan will ensure all bunkmates stay cool well into the night. Perfect for a group of kids or cousins to have a sleepover and tell stories and giggle late into the night.
Guest access
The entire cottage is available for your stay.
*Please note that the floating dock is seasonal. The dock is removed due to ice in October until early May. Rates reflect this in the off-season. Please inquire about dock status in the shoulder seasons.
*The boathouse is currently locked and unavailable for use by short term renters due to the short term rental application and local by-laws. This may be resolved before your stay. SUP's, kayaks, lifejackets and paddles will be left outside in the meantime.
Other things to note
Pets allowed with restrictions and owner approval so please communicate size, type and whether your dog is shedding or non-shedding in your inquiry.
Only one dog is allowed and no cats please as owner is very allergic.
We have curated furniture that is not meant for your furry friend so please be aware that it is requested that pets stay off the furniture.
The local municipality has passed a short term rental by-law which limits us to 2 guests per bedroom for a total of 8. We also have to comply with a noise agreement for guests. Please inquire by message if you have any questions.
All wheel drive (4X4) are recommended for the winter season. The roads and driveway can be ice/snow covered for most of the winter and while the driveway is not steep, good winter tires and hardy vehicles are recommended.
