The Log Cottage - A 4-season cottage with a fully renovated interior. New flooring throughout, updated kitchen and completely renovated bathroom. Three bedrooms (queen size beds can be included) 1 bath, laundry room, brand new on-demand water heater and central vacuum. Potable water is piped into all area cottages and is operated by a local water service (about $1200 for the full year paid every May). Heated with propane but electric heating available. Cottage is a spacious 1166 square feet.
The property is 50' by 150' and backs onto a conservation area, providing additional privacy. Septic system in the backyard. The cottage has a wooden log exterior and a rustic cabin appearance. Large driveway in front. Great covered front porch to relax and watch as locals and visitors stroll by on their way to the playground and beach.
Great community! Turkey Point is a wonderful community, with many friendly residents that organize various events throughout the year (e.g. Santa Clause Parade, summer festival). Most cottages in the area are either lived in year-round by residents or are personal use cottages. The community is quiet and peaceful and has a lively beach vibe during summer weekends.
Great location! Cottage is on a quiet street with an enclosed playground, community center, pickleball court (coming soon) a few houses away. A 5 minute walk brings you to Turkey Point beach, a two-kilometer sandy beach, great for fishing and water sports (rentals available at McDonald Turkey Point Marina ? 2km away). Walk to local restaurants and a convenience/
liquor store. Twenty minutes to Simcoe and Port Dover. Twenty minutes to Long Point Beach Provincial Park, a world biosphere reserve, which also has a wonderful sandy beach and is great for birding enthusiasts. Take a kayak or canoe up the Big Creek in Port Rowan. On Front Street, a short bike ride or drive, you will find Long Point Eco Adventures, offering axe throwing, zip lines, and a restaurant with a spectacular view; Burnt Kiln winery which hosts various music events (previous years Diana Krall, Arkells, Chantal Kreviazuk); and Blueberry Hill, a winery, cidery and a large PYO blueberry patch. Several biking and hiking trails in the vicinity.
