A great Canadian location on the St Lawrence River! We're celebrating our 11th year of welcoming guests from all over the world to our fourth-generation cottage. We are nestled in a quiet bay in the 1000 Islands west of Brockville with great swimming and a sandy bottom for as far as you can walk. Ship watching from our Adirondack chairs is a daily ritual with bike, kayak, stand-up paddleboard and canoe rentals close by. Only 10 minutes to Brockville, 90 minutes to Ottawa and 50 minutes to Kingston. Sleeps 6 - ideal for a smaller quiet family. Easy access to: * 1000 Islands Parkway bike path * Jones Creek hiking trails * Brown's Bay Beach and Picnic Area * Tree Top Trekking (ziplining park) * Gananoque Playhouse * Golf courses (2) - Brockville and Ivy Lea * Mini-golf / driving range
..not to mention so much to do in Brockville - Aquatarium at Tall Ships Landing, Brockville Railway Tunnel, Farmer's Market, and waterfront restaurants and boat tours!
Our guests have all respected and appreciated that our cottage is pet-free. It gives everyone an equal chance to enjoy their stay while not having to worry if someone has allergies that can affect their enjoyment. It's also consistent with the spirit of Lily Bay that promotes peace and quiet for you and our River community.
Our mission is to have you arrive at a clean and organized cottage. Instead of a cleaning fee, we ask that our guests leave the cottage in the same condition as when they arrived. This keeps our price reasonable and saves our guests money.
Since we also use the cottage when not hosting guests, we like to think our cottage is well-stocked with all the amenities you'd expect on your holiday. We get you started on your first few days with the basics (seasonings, sugar, salt and pepper, for example), knowing that everyone might bring their own preferences. And there are plenty of metal sticks for toasting marshmallows - the true taste of summer...for your mouth!
We believe in personal attention to our guests, and so we ask that you arrive at 4pm on your check-in date in order to finally meet in person (if we haven't already) and do a walk-around. Our guests really appreciate this as it helps familiarize them with our cottage, the property, parking, where we keep certain items, etc. We also go over our Cottage Manual which is a great reference in case you have questions. We'll arrive at 10am on Sunday to do the check-out and hear about your great holiday!

| We are a smaller family who were looking for a quieter, less frantic holiday visiting family in Eastern Ontario. Location was central to all the relatives. Reading books, listening to the loons at sundown and waking up to a heron on the rocks were some highlights. Swimming was great with a sandy bottom. We took in a play at the Gananoque Playhouse and a boat tour in Rockport on the same day. We've stayed at other cottages where the owner wasn't there when we arrived, which sounds OK but it's even nicer to have the owners welcome you and give a short tour to familiarize you with everything. Even though Brockville was only 10 minutes away we didn't spend a lot of time in town. There were some classic board games in the bookcase which brought back memories and lots of laughs. It was nice to just be, and not have every day packed with activities. Good value for the money and we have booked another week for this summer.

| We loved our stay at Wampeer. It was the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the St. Lawrence. From the personal meet and greet upon arrival, to the cosy and inviting environment of the cottage, the space was a welcoming home away from home experience. Cycling paths, sandy shores for swimming, a quiet cottage road for strolling, and sitting on the Adirondack chairs to watch the ships go by were some of the many options we enjoyed. As our stay was during the first week of July we had the added enjoyment of watching fireworks from nearby locations on both July 1st and 4th! This was a vacation for our memory book.

| A beautiful and historic cottage on a quiet bay on the magnificent St. Lawrence River. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and everything is spotlessly clean. Outside, the views of the river and the islands in the distance are spectacular. Wonderful sun sets and a large sandy bay for those late night swims and then a warm up by the outdoor fire pit. It doesn't get any better than a stay at this lovely cottage.
