| We had a wonderful week. The cottage was exactly as described and Heather was a pleasure to deal with. Highlights were the dock that was always in the sun given the southern exposure and the shalllow lake entry that gave our grandsons the ability to play safely at water's edge.

Owner response: So glad you had a great week and enjoyed the shallow swimming area for your grandkids. Thanks for taking good care of the property and leaving the cottage so well. Hope to have the opportunity to host you and family again some time!

| We had a lovely week on Wood Lake. The cottage is very welcoming and large. Beds are comfy. Beautiful sunroom. Large deck and dock both with great Adirondack chairs. The dock area is great for swimming, with a nice sandy bottom. Wood Lake is absolutely gorgeous and fun to explore in the pedal boat or kayaks. We were able to see the stunning full moon rise over the lake! There are however a few things which we wish we would have known before booking. There are a LOT of stairs - hard for older folks. We had specifically asked if there would be a canoe but it had sprung a bad leak and was unavailable. There is no fishing from the dock. We understand why this rule is in place (safe swimming) but it may have changed our renting decision as we had to cart our fishing loving little ones out to the raft or out in the pedal boat to fish. There is only a Keurig Coffee Maker. We brought coffee & filters and ended up having to buy a cheap coffee maker. We ran out of some kitchen supplies (without using them carelessly). We ended up having to go to Bracebridge for these. With advertising for sleeping 9 people, supplies need to be adequate. The bathroom is lovely but the water pressure was practically non-existent. Lastly, the AC broke on our 3rd day, which was okay as the nights were cool but the cottage is not conducive to windows open - limited screens and you have to close windows at night due to raccoons. We had a great week but we will look elsewhere next summer.

Owner response: Thanks for your review - we're glad to hear you loved the cottage, lake, deck and dock! That's what Muskoka is all about, and we're happy you got to enjoy it. We did want to clear up a few small things: -Yes, there are 12 steps down to the lake-as shown in first picture-a pretty typical part of the cottage experience up here, offering beautiful views -You had requested that the AC be turned off ahead of time and we respected that. When the weather shifted and YOU turned back on-we did our best to get it back up quickly -parts ordered and installed in just a couple days -Not many cottages have a shallow entry for the children and deep enough end of dock for safe fishing -it's either one or the other. -Screens installed in all the working windows let the breese in and keep bugs out, though we can't do much about the occasional wildlife sighting -nature comes with the territory. -And while we're on the topic of "things that happen", we're on the relaxed Muskoka program - so we didn't charge for the minor damage or missing toys we noticed after checkout - vacation mode happens. We truly hope you made some great memoies, and if there's ever a next time, we'll do our best to earn your 5 stars.

| My fiancé and I, along with another couple, had the pleasure of staying at Heather's cottage in October. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to find the cottage warm and inviting no need to adjust the temperature or wait for it to warm up, as is often the case with many rentals. The place was also spotless!
We loved the large windows overlooking the lake, in the kitchen and the living room, which provided stunning views and plenty of natural light. We also enjoyed cozy evenings by the indoor real wood fireplace, and appreciated the starter wood bundle that was provided.
During our stay, we explored the local hiking trails outlined in the welcome package, visited Vankoughnet Falls, and enjoyed kayaking. The cottage truly has everything. For me, the calm waters with minimal boat traffic in the mornings made this getaway particularly special.
In the evenings, we enjoyed a selection of board games, Monopoly, Life, and Yahtzee, (there were many more I can't list them all) and took advantage of the lake for our cold plunges. The fast Wi-Fi was a bonus.
I highly recommend this cottage to anyone; it is accessible for all ages and offers plenty of activities for children and adults!

Owner response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the cottage! We strive to have a clean and comfortable place to arrive to. The area is great for hikes, or even biking (mountain or road) - those morning kayaks are a favourite on our lake due to the calm and safe waters. Good for you guys to do the cold plunge!! We left the docks in late for you to use and in the winter will have the area ready for an ice rink! Please come back and check out the winter season, so many activities to do - you were wonderful guest who took great care of the space!

| All 9 of us thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at this cottage. The grandkids enjoyed all the actives, and games, and lots of open space to run around. The adults made good use of walking trails, kayaks, fire pit, quiet corners for solo time, beautiful autumn colours, ample kitchen facilities and lots of space. The lake lost power on the Friday night but to our great relief, the generator came on within a few minutes. (I need to get one of those for my home.) the lake views are beautiful. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Owner response: That's great to hear how everyone enjoyed themselves Heather! We try to make sure there is something to do for all ages. The fall weather has been amazing allowing the colours to stay longer. Nice that you enjoyed the beautiful hikes and kayaks to explore parts of the lake. Yes the automatic generator has been amazing as it seems the hydro is out from either storms or just high winds up North! You and your family took amazing care to leave the cottage as you found it! Hope to host you again in the future.

| Cottage was beautiful and the lake was quiet, very clean and bright, couldn't have asked for a better place to relax for a few days. Thank you Heather and Murray, you were very helpful and made me feel at home in your cottage.

Owner response: Thanks Gil! September is the best time of year with summer like conditions, quiet lake and water that sparkles in the sun. We are lucky that Wood Lake always stays clean and our area has no weeds for those beautiful waters views off dock. Hope to see you back and thanks for the awesome fishing pictures! Glad you like to catch and release, best way to keep the fish popultion up!
