If you're looking for a secluded getaway on the water then this is it! Built from logs harvested on the property, the Bula Bay retreat is a classic open frame log cabin. It is located on the quiet Long Lake in Tay Valley Township, in Eastern Ontario. As one of only a few properties at this end of the lake, it provides ample privacy surrounded by wilderness. The cottage sits on ten acres with waterfront (700ft) that is adjacent to conservation land. The surrounding region was previously mined for mica in the early 1900s and it is likely that you will find mica in the rocky outcroppings as you explore the area.
The cottage is an old fashioned log cabin but with some upgrades such as a fully equipped kitchen and a three piece bath with small walk-in shower. The open frame design means bedroom ceilings are open to the common A frame roof.
You can also enjoy a full sized barbeque and dine on the deck overlooking the bay. The deck is a great spot for watching birds, beavers, otters and deer that come and drink from the bay.
There is great clear swimming off the dock but the bay towards the conservation land is shallow and tends to get weedy as the summer progresses - lots of cover for fish to hide in.
From Bula Bay retreat , you are a short 15-minute drive to the heritage town of Perth, Ontario. Here you'll find anything you might need: groceries, LCBO, cafes, restaurants, pubs, Saturday farmers' markets, galleries, concerts, and festivals. Visit Murphy's Point Provincial Park (an 8-minute drive) for trails, a public beach, and tours of Silver Queen Mine (an early 1900s mica mine).

The water source is by lake water intake. Please use only the bottled water for consumption.
Pillows are provided, however, please bring your own linens and towels (for bathroom and kitchen).
While some life vests are provided guests should bring their own for proper fit, if needed.
