ONTARIO - St. Lawrence River - Experience the pristine THOUSAND ISLANDS from this breathtaking waterfront cottage. Relax in the turn-key, Adirondack-style cottage that sleeps four. The cottage is located on Wolfe Island, the largest of the Thousand Islands located on the St. Lawrence River. Wolfe Island and is accessible by ferry (FREE) from Kingston, Ontario.
It's all ready for you! Just bring yourselves, food & your smiles!
Full kitchen includes stove, fridge, toaster oven, Keurig coffee machine, all cooking equipment and all dishes & cutlery. The dining room seats 6 or you can bar-b-q outside and eat at the picnic table.
There is a flat screen TV with local channels.
Two bedrooms - two single beds and one double bed. All linens and bathroom towels are included.
Excellent swimming. Wade in from gentle, sandy shore or jump off the 50' dock. If you have kayaks, please feel free to bring them. Excellent kayaking around the many bays. Fishing (pike, bass, pickerel, etc). And, there's an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand!
Biking on the island goes for miles and is safe with very limited traffic. Every year there's a bicycle racing competition.
Riverfront Golf Course, a 9-hole course, is only 10 minutes away.
If you like Hiking, Big Sandy Bay offers a 1.5 km hiking trail from the parking lot through a beautiful wildlife (bird, otter, beaver) paradise to the white, sandy beach. There is an admission fee (cash only). This is a great day activity for a picnic lunch.
Games room with board games available. Yard ideal for playing lawn games. Fire pit for evening activities. We supply the wood.
From the cottage raised deck or from the private dock, you can enjoy unparalleled views of the river and beautiful sunrises. Morning coffee will never be the same again. The Thousand Islands are famous for crystal clear water, excellent fishing and natural wildlife.
The Village of MARYSVILLE, on Wolfe Island, has a General Store with an LCBO (liquor/beer and groceries). There are: 3 restaurants, 2 bakeries, gift shops, a Coffee Cafe, a Book Shop, a Boat Club (for sailing), a Golf course, Big Sandy Bay Park, Saturday Farmers' Market, a Museum, Art Gallery with locally-made crafts, bicycle rental, and a boat launch. There is an annual bicycle race and music festival held on Wolfe Island. In the Fall there's a popular Corn Maze.
KINGSTON: Fort Henry, Kingston Penitentiary Tours & Museum, Boat Museum, Boat Tours and Boat Dinner Tours, Farmers' Markets, Antique Market, lots of restaurants and Fine Dining, Theatre and lots of unique Shopping. Annual events include Buskers Festival, Limestone Blues Festival, Poker-Run Cigarette Boat Race and Food-In-The-Park. All this and more is just a free 15-minute, ferry ride from the Island to downtown Kingston.
Gananoque: Thousand Island Theatre, Casino, Boat tours (including to Boldt Castle), Shopping, fine restaurants and lots of interesting shops. 30 minutes East along the Scenic Highway. In August, Grassy Creek Park has the Annual International Sheep Dog Trials.
Our house is pet friendly, although due to allergies we cannot accept cats.
