Gull River Retreat

Central air conditioning and propane furnace for those hot or cold days, clean water with a UV filtration system- We still Recommend bringing drinking water but it is safe.

The main floor offers a master bedroom with a queen sized bed, a 2nd bedroom with a queen sized bed and a large loft with a queen sized bed and toddler bed. 1 bathroom, fully equipped open concept kitchen and livingroom space with cathedral ceilings. Cozy up at night by the modern yet rustic heated electric fireplace and watch Netflix or Disney+ on your 42" flat screen T.V with excellent Wifi signal.

We stay at the cottage and so it is fully equipped with everything you would need to enjoy a memorable retreat. The kitchen offers all cookware, dishware, glassware, coffee maker, utensils, toaster, wine opener, microwave as well as basic spices, condiments, olive oil and coffee.

There is a round breakfast/dining table off the kitchen, a tall stainless steel outdoor table, outdoor patio furniture and a picnic table. Muskoka chairs for the firepit and folding chairs for the dock.

2 kayaks and a shed equipped with lifejackets and all the necessities for a fun filled day on the river or lake.

Please note the cottage can comfortably fit a maximum of 6 people.

We provide indoor and outdoor games as well as there is lots of space for an outdoor camping experience for the kids within the safe fenced yard, lots of space around the campfire, the play structure for the little ones and space for activities, games, sports or a morning workout or yoga session.

Read a book with your coffee or wine on the large deck overlooking the Gull River. Enjoy the panoramic view of the beautiful uninterrupted vegetation. Watch an otter swim down the River or take a moment to listen to the birds.

We do have cameras and an alarm system on the property for your safety and for ours. We do not have access to view the footage as the system is on site and the cameras are only outdoors and not indoors. Your safety, enjoyment and privacy is our main concern- the surveillance and alarm system is to protect the cottage when it is vacant and to protect our guests while respecting everyone's privacy and enjoyment.

Please bring your own firewood as we do not provide and we do not offer cable T.V. Wifi with Netflix and Disney+ is provided.

There is a public boat launch just a hop skip and a jump up the road and there is our personal deck and dock for fishing, swimming, canoeing or kayaking. The swimming off the dock is excellent, fresh clean slow moving water for the entire family to enjoy! There is also a public beach and park which is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. There are many other public beaches and areas to enjoy within a short driving distance.

Take a country drive in the fall and watch the changing color of the leaves, walk through a quaint small town and shop till you drop, drive to Minden to enjoy craft beer at the local brewery or venture off to Bobcaygeon and walk through the Kawartha Settlers Village. Spend a day in Minden floating down the lazy river, have a picnic in Rotary Park and grab an ice cream at the famous Kawartha Dairy. Hike on one of the many family friends trails in Balsam Provincial Park and grab a pizza at the famous Riverside Inn in Norland.

Enjoy everything summer has to offer or plan a winter retreat where you can ice fish, skate, snowshoe, cross country ski. Please bring your own winter equipment as we do not provide. Pour yourself a cup of hot apple cider and brave the elements with a winter campfire. A season for everyone to enjoy!
