Our little slice of heaven is a four season, 800 sq ft cottage, with three bedrooms and a full size, west-elm sectional sofa bed to sleep any overflow guests.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, this classic viceroy has a beautiful deck overlooking the lake where you can enjoy al-fresco dinners and a morning coffee; and a dock surrounded by 10 ft of water to jump into, plus a small cove that's perfect for little kids to wade and throw rocks into.

Winter season guests can enjoy an active ice fishing community on the lake with snowmobile trails all over the community. A ski resort and Haliburton's town centre are both 30 minute drives away.

Guests can enjoy our two adult kayaks, two kids kayaks and a canoe to paddle around the lake. A marina is a just a 10 minute drive down the road, offering boat rentals, gas, food trucks and general store needs.

Our family had an incredible time staying here! The cottage is very clean and tidy and has everything you might need during your stay. The beds were super comfortable and an added bonus was having linens supplied. The cottage is very cozy! Each day after swimming and kayaking we looked forward to playing one of the many games or enjoying a movie. The kitchen is well equipped and even offers a neat collection of vintage bakeware and tools. There were plenty of spices and a few pantry staples on hand. Matt & Sarah even left some fresh baked treats to enjoy upon arrival. They were very responsive to questions and offered helpful tips during our stay. Our family had a lovely time on beautiful Kennisis Lake and we hope to return again soon. Thank you Matt & Sarah for being such wonderful hosts!

This cottage has the most spectacular views. Its truly perched up in the tress adn your sunsets fall directly in front of the cottage, fishing was great and we were there late fall! has a great cozy vibe, one of our favourite rentals to date. Owners are lovely and helpful too.

During a cold, dreary winter in the UK we came across Kennisis Lake Hideaway whilst researching our once in a lifetime vacation in Canada. It looked just what we dreamt of . idyllic location, tastefully furnished, equipped with everything we might need, access to the water's edge with a canoe, kayaks, and a SUP (along with life jackets) provided . All our dreams were surpassed! A wonderful cottage, and the owners were incredibly responsive to all our questions, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best few days here. Thanks so much - we will never forget this special time!

Our family had a blast at the Kennisis Hideway for a last minute weekend getaway. The lakeviews from the house were stunning and kayaking on the still waters was fun for the entire family as our 7 year old learned to kayak. The kids enjoyed the toys and the books. Sarah and Matt were amazing hosts and answered all our emails. As new cottage owners in the area, they even went over the top to get us familiar with the ins and outs of the neighborhood.
