Are you looking for a retreat to a tranquil lake on the edge of Algonquin Park? If you like quiet and the call of loons, this McCauley Lake cottage might be the place for you. The region has incredible wilderness appeal. McCauley Lake is on the eastern edge of Algonquin Park, north of the village of Madawaska, 2.5 hours from Ottawa. The lake has plenty of crown land and only 36 cottages in total. The cottage is very private and well maintained. 3 bedrooms including a large loft, open living area, and a very functional 3 season screened room for beautiful lake views and incredible sunsets. Decks on both front and back. The swimming area is exceptional. Sandy bottom for swimming. Well treed lot with majestic red pines. 180' of waterfront. Fish for pike, pickerel, bass, right from the dock, or use the fishing boat. Enjoy the hiking and ATV trails in the area, or paddle the numerous lakes in the vicinity. The sunset view from the cottage is exceptional. Canoe, kayaks and SUP available for your use. The Town of Barry's Bay 15 min away with supermarkets, liquor and beer, restaurants and shops. The many activities of Algonquin Park are within a 30 minute drive. The cottage is heated with a wood fireplace and electric heaters for keeping warm and cozy during the cooler nights. Fire wood for inside and fire pit is included. Must be 25 years old to sign the rental agreement. Mandatory ID and license plate required for booking. Rental agreement must be signed and returned with 1st deposit. | Beautiful Cottage and private lot. Quiet lake, great fishing, Lovely screened in porch to enjoy amazing sunset while having dinner. Easy shallow access to water for little ones and pets.
Clean and well equipped inside and out. Flat areas for games and play.
Easy access to ATV trails.

| We had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks with our pup. Right from the jump - Trudy was amazing to work with, and the cottage surpassed our expectations! There is more than enough to do around the cottage with the paddle board, kayaks and canoe. The slow entry to the water was perfect for the dog and swimming. I was also very surprised how nice and cool the cottage stayed, the temp was perfect:) Any questions we had were always answered quickly. We would recommend this place anyone looking for a great stay - many things to do in and around town as well. Tears were she's on the last day for sure!
Thanks again Trudy and family for sharing your little slice of paradise with us! We created memories that most definitely last a lifetime.

| We stayed at the cottage as a family of 4 and our dog. There was plenty of room for everyone. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. There are great views of the lake from the living room and screened in porch. The water was good for swimming but I would recommend water shoes. The kids enjoyed jumping off the dock. We made use of the kayaks, paddle board and aluminum fishing boat. Off the dock we caught smallmouth bass, rock bass and even a walleye. In the boat we caught the same as well as some nice size pike! The only downfall was the fire ban and the bugs were bad but that's nothing to do with the cottage. We would definitely consider coming back. Thanks!

| The cottage was wonderful and definitely worth going to. It was clean and very well kept, and stayed cool even when the temperatures were hot. The beach entrance is quite small though there is lots of shallow water area. The entrance and the water area gently slope in to deeper water so it is perfect for small children and dogs. The lake is clean and clear. The dock is positioned so that is good for watching the lake, the sunsets, the kids in the water, or just for sunbathing. There is lots of space for kids to play behind the cottage away from the lake. All in all a perfect place to get away from it all.
