Welcome to Kearney Cottage Retreat ! If you are looking for a special place to unwind and truly escape from the day to day routines of life, then you have found the right place. Nestled around mature trees in the picturesque setting of Kearney ON, your place of tranquility and escape awaits!
To ensure your privacy, the cottage is gated with a circular driveway with enough parking spaces to accommodate your entire group of friends and family. On the main floor of the cottage you will find a fully stocked kitchen, a cozy yet sizeable family room, a Muskoka room with a view of the lake, a dining area with a table to seat 10, as well as a powder room. The second floor, boasts 5 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (1x bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom with a double, another bedroom with a king bed, a bedroom with two bunk beds and a finally a bedroom with a sofa bed and trundle). The cottage also has a partially finished basement. As you exit the rear doors of the basement, you will find the outdoor hot tub which you are more than welcome to use during your stay in the fall, winter & spring.
The shoreline is about 500 ft from the rear of cottage along a gently sloping path which is a great hill for sledding during the winter months!. As you approach the shore, you will notice a gazebo and fire pit to your left. During the summer and early fall months, the dock extends about 20 ft into Groom Lake and there will also be a floating dock that you can use. Take in the view and feel the tranquility and peace of your setting. Explore the beautiful lake with your choice of a kayak, canoe or pedal boat. The shore is sandy with minimal weeds and gradual entry to about 4-5 feet at the end of the dock. The water is swimmable. You may fish on the lake but please ensure you have your fishing license. This lake mainly has small mouth bass.
During the winter, explore the trails, bring your skates to utilize the lake as your own rink, dip into the hot tub as the snow flakes fall on your face or perhaps light the fire pit and sip hot chocolate as you sit on a Muskoka chair.
Board games, books, children's toys, baby equipment are available to use during your stay.
Kearney is known for its snowmobile and ATV trails. The entrance to Algonquin is just minutes away.
-Huntsville town is ~ 30 minutes away.
-Town of Kearney is ~10 minutes away and has restaurants, a gas station,an ice cream shop, antique stores, and a small sandy beach.
-Town of Emsdale has a convenience store.
-There is a nice sandy beach at Doe Lake Municipal Park which is ~23 minutes away
-Hidden Valley Ski Resort is ~ 35 minutes away
-Aerohead Provincial Park is 20-25 minutes away. Burks falls is ~20 minutes away.

We welcome you to use all our water activities (kayaks, canoe, pedal boat, Lilly pad, floating dock) . However, the inflatable island is NOT allowed to be used by guests.
We have some adult and children's life jackets available in the shed by the waterfront, however we are not liable for any injury so use at your own risk
The metal garage has a ping pong table and other sports equipment which you are free to use.
