Cottage is located at the edge of the Esson lake (~ 3 to 6 ft deep around the dock - depending on the seasonal water levels). Deeper side of the lake is accessible right through the culvert. You can drive the canoes, kayaks and the peddle boat from the cottage dock right into the deeper Esson lake (~20 to 60 feet deep). The culvert to the deeper side of Esson lake is about 300m away from the cottage dock.
This cottage features three bedrooms, gorgeous bathroom with luxurious shower, indoor wood fireplace, propane and charcoal BBQ, outdoor firepit, living room equipped with 70 inch TV & surround sound and full kitchen (Oven /dishwasher/refrigerator/microwave). This is a beautiful property that we offer to individuals who respect nature and families looking to create wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
Beds: Master Bedroom has a queen sized bed, Bunk Bedroom has two single beds, the third bedroom has murphy's bed - queen size and the living room has a sofa bed which can be converted into a queen size bed.

| Usman is a really amazing person. I was planning to stay at a cottage in April 2024 and reached out to Usman with my queries. He was very patient and detailed in answering all my questions. Our group was still deciding on total no. of people so I asked Usman to give me some time to get back to him. Even though I didn't expect him to block the dates as I'd never want them to miss on any another booking for the same dates but he still blocked those dates for us as a kind gesture. Within next couple of days, we got the exact understanding of the total no. of people we'd and due to one friend and his spouse joining us the number exceeded then the room Usman had on his cottage. So we couldn't go ahead with the booking but just wanted to leave this review to appreciate Usman being so kind and helpful throughout. I'd definitely love to book his place sometime soon when we're a smaller group. Thank you Usman.

| Anosh's communication was second to none.
The quaint cottage has everything to offer and then some. There wasn't anything missing. Updated and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed morning and evening hot tubs which was a nice bonus.
Had little fires in the wood stove. Beds were comfy as that is a priority for us!
Enjoyed watching the birds and Tundra Swans swim down the creek.
Can't wait to enjoy another stay at the cottage.

| Cottage was a cute little getaway location for our snowmobiling trip. Our fave part was the hot tub and we used it every day. Anosh was a great host and always available for any questions. Recommended!

| As snowmobiling enthusiasts, we recently returned from our third stay this year at the Esson Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed each trip. Our hosts Usman and Anosh were very accommodating and super nice people to know. On the rare occasion we had a need, they responded quickly and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Though not overly large but well appointed the cabin was comfortable, and modern and perfect for my wife and I as well as our 2 medium sized dogs. The hot tub was a bonus after a long day out on the trails! Supplies were less than 10 minutes away in the town of Wilberforce. On the trails, you can ride the road shoulder from the cottage for about 800m to Sunset Cottage Rd which will give you access to the OFSC 601. There are also staging areas in Tory Hill and Wilberforce with awesome rides to Haliburton, Harcourt, Barry's Bay and the RAP. We also trailered to the Haliburton Forest a few times in early February when the local trails were disappearing but returned 10 days later to recent snow and perfectly groomed OFSC trails. The only caution is the driveway to the cottage is steep so if you are trailering, I would not attempt this with anything larger than a double bed enclosed. I had no issues with a 12 ft single axle though Usman arranged to have the driveway plowed and sanded in advance of our arrival. Other local area options exist if you're hauling a 30 footer! Overall, the cabin was perfect for our needs and we look forward to another visit in 2024! Thanks both!

| Very nice area for a winter getaway. Lots of walking and snowshoeing trails.
I do recommend to bring a dish cloth and a towel to dry the dishes as these are not provided. It was a bit challenging as my family of four were staying there for 1 week, no dressers or any place is provided to hang our clothes and all of our winter gear, therefore we had to live our suitcases.
Cottage was nice and clean, Anosh makes it very easy for communication.

This should assist the guests with managing their clothes. Also, I have added two clothe hanging rack (wall mounted) in the bedroom for guest ease and use. I believe that these actions should address your feedback and helps the guests staying here in the future. | |
