This Algonquin retreat is an exciting serene getaway for people who love to explore the great outdoors and unwind in nature. On Otter lake you will create unforgettable memories, celebrate cherished moments together and create long lasting relationships. If you enjoy stunning lake views, peace and quiet and natural waterfront this cottage is a fit for you. Enjoy paddling in a canoe or kayak and swimming in spring fed waters. Go hiking at the Dorset lookout tower, play on the floating mat or spend an afternoon at the beach. There is also golf, fishing and ziplining at Deer Hurst resort. Bask in the beautiful views on Otter lake from an outdoor deck or lakefront dock. The cottage is a traditional Muskoka designed 3 bedroom cottage and sleeps 6 people. The living room overlooks the quiet Bay and provides stunning views of the lake and sky. The private master bedroom has a queen size bed and provides a nature sanctuary. The second bedroom has bunk beds and the third bedroom has bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single mattress on top. There is a 3 piece bathroom with a glass shower overlooking the lake. You can BBQ on the treetop deck and enjoy the large outdoor living space. Dorset is a 5 minute drive away where you will find Robinson's General Store for groceries, LCBO, a local marina, world class restaurants. Indulge in the delicious local bakeries, culinary delights and the infamous Kawartha dairy! The cottage is centrally located and 20 minute drive to Huntsville, Dwight and Algonquin park. | Our family enjoyed this week-long cottage trip at Otter Lake. The cottage is clean, comfortable and practically has everything: a fully stocked kitchen, cozy bedrooms, kayaks and canoe, BBQ and fire pit, The water is very clear to dip for a swim. We were lucky to be able to stargaze for a couple of nights. It is also very close by to Dorset, Dwight, Huntsville and Algonquin
The lakeview is so peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed the sunset at the wrapped around deck and the netted gazebo. We spent almost every night for sunset dinners at the deck. We don't mind the stairs because to be honest, you can't get everything: be able to overlook the gorgeous view and get close to swimming in the Otter Lake.
The phone/internet reception of the cottage might be limited due to it being situated in such a secluded lake area. We thought it's a disadvantage, but it turned out it's the best thing that ever happened to us. We were able to enjoy the family time and relax without any distraction. About 5 mins away at Dorset, we are able to connect with Wifi.
Joy responded to our questions promptly. Thank you Joy for sharing this paradise with us. We'll certainly plan to visit again.

| So lucky to have found this cottage. It's a beautiful soul nourishing spot. My family and friend enjoyed our stay very much and we hope to be able to return for future vacations.
On the practical side, the cottage had everything from a fully stocked kitchen (my mother was in unexpected heaven), to kayaks and canoe, BBQ, indoor and outdoor eating areas, fire pit, iconic dock Muskoka chairs, to being clean, comfortable, private, well maintained and modernized and decorated but with a fantastic cottage feel. It's close to town but once arrived it feels like it's in a different far away world.
We're grateful to Joy for her care of the space and for sharing it.

| We were lucky to find this cottage in peak season. Quiet location on mid size lake. This 3 bedroom with one great room cottage has had some recent updates and is the perfect place to get away from it all. Great view of lake from deck. Weed free swimming from private dock. Enjoyed Kayaking, Canoeing and Coffee Grinder/Brewer. As the owner states a large number of stairs from road to cottage and cottage to dock. We did not mind it. Thank you Joy for sharing this wonderful space with us.

| We were very fortunate to rent this wonderful cottage in mid-August.
The drive along the narrow, winding, gravel road to get to the cottage made us feel like we were going to a secret hideaway in the wilderness. Upon arriving we were quite pleased to see the beautiful view of the calm and quiet Otter Lake, from the large wraparound deck.
Joy was a gracious and welcoming host, and before she left, she gave us the 'grand tour' of the well-equipped 3 bedroom cottage, the firepit, docks, etc. (please note, there are a number of stairs from your car to the cottage and another set of stairs from the cottage down to the docks).
Our family thoroughly enjoyed kayaking, fishing, canoeing, swimming and hiking, that a week did not seem long enough. Besides all the fun at the cottage, we were close to Algonquin Park, Dorset, Dwight, Huntsville, Haliburton and so many other great 'small towns' to explore.
Roasting marshmallows at the private firepit right next to the lake was a perfect way to end our very full days.
Our family is already planning for when we will return to this lovely cottage.
