During the summer season, we require a minimum rental period of one week. Weekly rentals run from Monday to Monday to accommodate our cleaning staff. Quaint, newly constructed coach house cottage on Chandos Lake with large master bedroom, small adjoining kids room and large second bedroom. Beautifully finished timber frame style with newly expanded kitchen. Most suitable for couple or small family. Cottage is set back from water by approximately 100 feet but rental comes with waterfront boathouse/ screened porch with dining and seating area, outdoor patio area and water access by dock. There is also an outdoor dining area and firepit close to the cottage.
Chandos is a large, deep, spring fed lake with good trout, pike and muskie fishing - even right off the dock. The cottage is located on Gilmour Bay, a smaller, sheltered bay with easy access to the main lake.
Waterfront: approximately 100ft of waterfront, good privacy, dock access to sand bottom water. Natural shoreline with quiet seating area by the water to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the sunrise. Limited shallow water entry at shore over stepping stones with clean, deep water swimming from end of dock. Includes floating raft. Good privacy.

Note: The coach house is on the adjoining property to our main cottage. The combined property has approximately 3.5 acres of land and 410 feet of waterfront - with the coach house property comprising approximately 1 acre of land and 100 feet of waterfront. There is a shared driveway that connects both property to the main road. Otherwise, the two properties and, in particular, the main buildings are very separate with their own dedicated outdoor areas, including lakeside deck/boat house and water access and dock. The main cottage is not rented out but may occasionally be in use by the owners during your stay. We have had several renter groups and found both owners and renters have ample privacy and there is very little overlap between the two dwellings.
2 kayaks and a paddle board are available for your use. Note: it is a legal requirement to wear a PFD on any non-motorized watercraft in Ontario. Renters must provide their own PFDs for safety reasons.

Note: Chandos is a large, deep, spring fed lake located in the heart of the Kawarthas, near the town of Apsley. There are three main bays, West Bay, South Bay and Gilmour's Bay, and the lake is shaped like a reverse L. Chandos Lake is the largest lake in the Crowe River watershed, and is known for good fishing, especially lake trout, Northern pike and bass. | The coach house was suitable for our family's stay (2 adults and 2 kids) and all guests that we had visit (3 additional adults and 2 kids, for two nights only). There was ample room for one week. We really valued the full kitchen including all large and small appliances, full bathroom, nice furnishings, mattresses and linens, and apartment finishes.
The boat house was an added bonus that we thoroughly enjoyed! The lake was exactly what I had hoped for: clean, deep, and peaceful. Overall the property is stunning. We really appreciated the beautiful landscaping which shows how much care this family put into their home and property.
If we were staying for longer than a week a deck would have been a nice bonus (which the owners have mentioned adding in summer 2022!)
We felt there was adequate privacy though the main cottage is a bit closer to the coach house than anticipated. This didn't bother us at all. We liked seeing and hearing the neighbors (albeit through the trees). We could tell that we were among a safe community.
Apart from the beautiful grounds, home, and lake, the proximity to Toronto and small towns makes your property a perfect getaway.
