Our Story Let our exquisite Lake House with its teal-coloured exterior, asymmetrical shape, true waterfront lake living with an abundance of amenities be the choice of your next vacation and the perfect escape to rejuvenate, celebrate and unwind.
Skipping Rock Lake House is a quick drive to Port Dover and Niagara Falls if you want to do something extra on your getaway. It is also located between two provincial parks - each only a 20-minute drive. Several golf courses are in the area as well. As in most small towns, Haldimand County has local bakeries, one-of-a-kind shops, non-franchise restaurants and even fine dining. You can discover the Grand River and all of its beauty for walking trails, fishing, boating, and so much more.
Walk directly into the shallow water; but be sure to bring WATER SHOES as it is rocky, not sandy! We have an armour stone break wall attached to the dock (seasonal). It is also connected to the aggregate pad for a unique place to sit and view the lake.

| We really enjoyed our stay at the Lakehouse! The lake view and the sunrises were stunning! The cottage was fully equipped with everything you could need. Very comfortable and cozy. We brought our boat and had easy access to fish whenever we wanted. Loved the fire tub, so relaxing! Would highly recommend to friends and family. Less than an hour drive from Dundas! Thanks! Vaughan & Sherry

Owner response: Sherry & Vaughan, Thank you for taking the time to provide us a review. It is so amazing watching the sunrise from the lake house. It never gets old! This time of year is perfect for relaxing in the Fire tub. There is just something about being in the Fire tub right on the lake that makes it even more special. We truly hope that you choose Skipping Rock Lake House for future getaways. We would love to host you. Lisa

| We had a lovely, peaceful week at Skipping Rock Lake House. It is a quaint cottage but it is very well equipped and hands down has the most comfortable beds we have ever experienced away from home. Jason was there to greet us and show us around. He and Lisa have been wonderful to deal with from intitial booking to the end of our stay. What touched us is that they kindly extended if there was anything else needed above and beyond what they were offerring to not only make our stay more enjoyable but also our special needs son's stay more comfortable. Very thoughtful and appreciated. Our son loved it and was sad to head home at the end of our week. As a family, we loved waking up to spectacular sun rises and ended our days with a nice fire overlooking the peaceful waters. The place is perfect, the hosts are lovely...would we recommend Skipping Rock Lake House? Hands down, Yes! No question. We hope to return one day if Jason and Lisa would have us back :). Thak you Jason, Lisa & Heather for sharing a slice of your paradise with us Saunders.

Owner response: Tag, What a lovely review. Thank you for detailing what you loved about our cottage. It is great for others who are thinking of booking to know what to expect when booking with us. We do get amazing comments about the beds. We didn't think twice about purchasing beds comfortable enough to feel like home. Going on vacation and getting good night sleeps while there is always a bonus. It was our pleasure hosting you and your family. We are so glad that your son enjoyed his stay - and it is great to hear that he liked it so much that he was sad to leave. Rest assured, if he liked it that much, we would be honoured to host all of you again in the future. We want to make everyone's experience as delightful as possible. Keep in touch. Let us know any recommendations that could make your future stays even better for your son. We appreciate your booking and supporting our small business. Thank you. Lisa

| Just got back from a very relaxing stay at Skipping Rock - what a lovely cottage! They've thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable - main appliances including microwave, kettle, coffee maker; every utensil you may need and loads of kitchen and bath towels. The beds are super comfy - just like home - just bring a coverlet or duvet. The cottage has air conditioning which is great for those hot days. The cottage is right on the waterfront, providing amazing views of the water and the sunrise. Plenty of outdoor chairs for relaxing, tanning, reading, etc. Great area to walk the dog or go for a swim - but don't forget water shoes!! Bring your bikes - Lakeshore Road travels along the shoreline in both directions, beautiful views of Lake Erie! Will definitely be staying here again!!

Owner response: Laurie, Thank you for providing a amazingly detailed review. It was very nice to meet you and your husband upon arrival - Jason loves giving our guests the tour. We really love to hear what our customers enjoyed the most at our cottage and to show folks who are looking for a place to stay, what they can expect - and it sounds like you made the most of your stay. Yes water shoes are a definite must! We are fortunate to be located in the inlet where the water is shallow and the view is still vast. We look forward to hosting you again! You can expect a returning guest loyalty gift with your next stay. Thank you for supporting our small business! Lisa

We enjoyed the abundance of fun activities available for everyone, such as venturing out on the kayaks and paddle boards provided with the rental! The cottage was clean and had plenty of supplies available. Hosts were available for immediate contact! Excellent value and accommodations!

Owner response: Jennifer, What a wonderful review. Thank you! We provide ourselves on keeping the cottage super clean and having a variety of things to do. I appreciate you pointing out that you found it to be excellent value and accommodations. The kayaks are my favourite thing to do when I am there myself. I love venturing off into the vast lake and seeing how truly magnificent it really is. We hope that you keep us in mind for your next vacation. Lisa
