My brothers and I were so happy to come across this beautiful cabin to surprise our Dad for his 80th birthday. After sightseeing and cruising Georgian bay we
arrived at Wishbone Retreat. We were welcomed warmly by the owner Colin who confirmed this was the perfect place. After some quality time with Dad, our extended joined us, from a toddler to teenagers. There was a place for everyone and they enjoyed all the amenities from the hot tub to the kayaks and so on... we also got a chance to hike part of the Bruce trail just 10 mins away.
Great memories were made and we look forward to staying again. Cheers Melanie and Family

A perfect, ideal spot for our family to enjoy each others company!
This is a well cared for property with outstanding space for all, incredible views and plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, or not!
Quiet spaces for reading, or just some alone time and plenty of group sized space for the whole family to gather. The dining room table was ideal for our big dinners and breakfasts and we didn't hear one issue regarding the beds. Everyone spoke about how comfortable they were.
The hot tub was a great spot to wind down after an evening fire or just sitting on the decks.
Looking forward to our return!

Owner response:
Thank you John for this thoughtful review. Kim and I are very grateful to have met you and your family. So glad that you had a good time and very honoured that you are returning next year! See you soon.

What a perfect place to have our first family vacation /reunion. The log cabin is beautifully made, designed and decorated. I love the huge dining table where the family can eat dinner together while enjoying the perfect sunset overlooking the water. The hot tub was a hit for everyone esp the 5 grandkids. The game room was a great bonding place for the adults and kids. I love that the sandy beach is a walking distance, my sons loved the bike rides and we all did the hikes.
The warm welcome from our host Colin is also much appreciated. It was truly a beautiful place for all of us to relax enjoy and rejuvenate. We hope we can come back again soon.

Owner response:
Cynthia, Kim and I are so grateful to have met you and your wonderful family. Thank you so much for your kind words. Until next time? :)

Wow! We were married on the property the day after we arrived! Due to rain it was set up in the game room, but there are so many wonderful options outdoors. We had a total of 18 guests for the wedding and 11 + an infant & dog for the week. There's so much space inside that no one was ever on top of each other. Beds were comfortable, views are AMAZING, we had great use out of the water craft provided!
Colin is so easy to communicate with & such a pleasant, kind person. He was always available if we had any questions and made sure we knew where to tour with the water craft- the osprey nest being about 40 mins by kayak & Canoe. Such a cool thing to get to see!
The location is so central to all other locations in the Bruce. There is a great beach just a bike ride away, if you want pizza- Moms pizza was SOO good! There are so many more things I could say, but bottom line is, if you're looking for something for a large family or friends gathering that is kid friendly of all ages- this IS your place!
For anyone considering getting married here, you're welcome to ask Colin for my contact information. ( vendor information, tips for the property, pictures . Etc. )
Thank you so much Colin & Kim. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We truly hope to be back in the future!

Owner response:
Carissa and Bryan, it was a pleasure to have you stay with us and we were honoured that you had your wedding here. You both looked amazing, and got some incredible pictures by the shore and around the property.
You have a wonderful family, including my new best buddy, Rodney.
We would love to have you back to celebrate your anniversary!
We wish you many years of joy and happiness.
All the best
Colin and Kim.

Beautiful cottage and beautiful location. You do really have to see it to fully appreciate the craftsmanship. As my 5 year old put it, "we're in a house built out of trees." Cottage is well equipped including laundry which came in handy for the kids. Kitchen has everything you need, tons of plates, cutlery, coffee makers, every appliance.

We enjoyed spending time by the water, going out in the kayaks and paddleboat, having a fire in the fire pit by the shore. We brought our bikes and the kids loved exploring some of the trails at the Sandy Beach park.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful property and we hope to return in the future!
