Gorgeous wood construction provides our guests with the quintessential cottage experience. Wake up to enjoy spectacular sunrises over the lake from the deck, the dock or the enclosed sunroom. Wind down your day roasting marshmallows around the campfire. The cottage is suitable for two families. There are three bedrooms: two with queen beds and a third bedroom with four twin beds. There is a powder room upstairs and a bathroom with shower on the main floor. Parking for two cars is directly outside the door of the cottage. The cottage has a new kitchen and laundry centre, and freshly decorated rooms with new furniture, linens and mattresses. A gas fireplace provides that cozy cottage feeling at the touch of a button. Included in your stay are all bed linens, towels, and some basic supplies to get guests started (spices, sugar, olive oil, a few rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, etc.). A BBQ, board games, internet, a smart speaker and a smart TV are also included. Forget something? The store in the village of Maple Leaf provides essential groceries and a small LCBO. Your stay also includes access to two kayaks and a canoe. The sand-bottom crystal-clear lake has excellent swimming with shallow water near shore that is perfect for young children; and has deeper water just beyond the dock. Papineau Lake has depths of 200 feet and is a favourite spot for fishing lake trout, bass and pike. Enjoy nearby hiking trails, horseback riding, and for the more daring, there is white-water rafting nearby and cliff jumping across the lake.

| My family and my brother's family shared this rental (4 adults, 4 kids) and we had a fantastic time. The lake was still cool (pretty early in the season), but boat traffic was almost non-existent. Our kids all got to bunk together which they had a lot of fun with (big room with 4 beds and a fun little screened in deck off of it). The lake was beautiful (gorgeous countryside, beautiful sunrises), the cottage has a great blend of old cottage charm with some modern conveniences (well appointed kitchen, laundry facilities, potable water, no shortage of hot water), and the wildlife was on full display (loons, eagles, peregrine falcons, and lots of chipmunks in the old oak trees). I would stay here again in a heartbeat (too bad I am in a different province).

| We (6 adults & 2 kids) had a great time at The Snug! The cottage is great, well kept and has had recently new things added like a great front and side deck. The cottage was well equipped for a weekly rental, including kayak's, canoe, and water floats! Cottage is very spacious, beds comfortable, lots of room for eating. The location on the lake is great, a wide cove to the right with lots of really shallow water that's great for swimming, and more open lake to the left for boating, etc. There is a nice little island you can kayak over to, bring a lunch and relax for the day! The water was really warm for a Canadian lake, and we did lots of swimming! There was minimal power boats on the lake, so it was pretty quiet. Nights are great laying on the dock, white a drink, the stars and the sounds of Loons! Owners are kind and helpful and provide lots of information regarding the property, and what to do in the surrounding areas. Would rent here again!

| We spent 2 lovely weeks at The Snug. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and beautifully decorated. It was convenient to have the gas fireplace on a couple of cool mornings. The huge wraparound deck was amazing where we enjoyed our morning coffees, outdoor dining and cocktails and if you are an early riser, you will see some beautiful sunrises. The waterfront is crystal clear with a shallow entry and a nice long dock. We enjoyed using the 2 kayaks that came with the cottage. Grace & Jason were very quick to respond to all queries and a pleasure to deal with. We would highly recommend this cottage.

| The Snug is exactly as listed: beautiful views, calm surroundings & charming accomodations- just what our family of 6 needed to recharge. The new porch area makes for fantastic al fresco dining, book reading and wine sipping. The waterfront is to die for; sandy bottom and crystal clear. Our 4 kids (ages 19-11) enjoyed every minute - boredom NEVER an issue. Bancroft, Maynooth & Barry's Bay all worth exploring a short drive away for those rainy days (Fave spots: Kawartha Dairy/Bancroft Brew Pub/Grumblin' Granny's). The Snug is the quintessential Canadian cottage well worth visiting!
