Greetings from Red Fox Lakehouse on beautiful Haliburton Lake! Check out @redfoxlakehouse on Instagram or Facebook for more photos and reviews!

We're excited to tell you about our stunning Lakehouse rental which has recently (2020) been renovated from top to bottom! It boasts a great floor plan (1200 sq ft) of a mudroom entryway with heated floors, spacious living room complete with vaulted ceilings, brand new chef's kitchen, cozy furniture, an expansive window with amazing views and a floor to ceiling wood burning stone fireplace. The master has a King bed and the other two bedrooms have Queen beds. There is one full bathroom (heated floors) with laundry, and one powder room (heated floors). All rooms have been decorated with new furniture, decor, linens and mattresses for your comfort! The Lakehouse is fully appointed with all of the appliances and amenities you might want. Board games, puzzles, books, outside games, Internet, cottage phone and Smart TV are also included.

Included in your stay are ALL bed linens, towels, beach towels, and some basic supplies to get guests started (i.e spices, sugar, olive oil, a few rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, etc.). If you forgot something, the nearby marina also has some basic food/snacks/ice cream and an LCBO outlet (summer) and Eagle Lake Country Market (year round) has all the groceries you need just ten minutes away.

Summer info - The Lakehouse itself is nestled on the waterfront on a flat grass lot perfect for games and relaxing. You can walk into the water as it has a very gradual decline. There is also a swim raft for jumping off! Water levels lower all summer as our lake feeds the Trent Severn Gull River Watershed System so it's important to check depth before jumping and diving. There is a dock for sitting and attaching boats. There are several different deck seating areas outside for you to enjoy and a fire pit is on the property as well (wood is included!). Also included to use is a propane BBQ which has a propane line to the cottage so you never run out of fuel while cooking. There is a paddleboat, canoe and two kayaks to use. If you would like to tour the lake, you can rent a motor boat or a pontoon boat from the Marina which is less than five minutes away on the lake.

This is our first get-away vacation since covid19. It was in a peaceful and serene area-perfect for a little bit of self-care. The property is just beautiful, and so clean. I love the modern barnhouse decor. Pictures does not do this place justice. The host provided all that we would need for our comfort. The beds were so comfortable. My friends and I went wild with the mexican train dominoes. I loved the wood fireplace. Perfect way to start the winter month. We love it so much, we plan to return next Spring. Thanks Laura and Jamie for a wonderful get-away.

Red Fox Lakehouse was by far the most incredible experience we've ever had at a rental cottage. Upon arrival the cottage was spotless and well kept. The finishings were the perfect blend of modern and traditional Muskoka style. The outdoor area was spacious and very accessible for the disabled member of our group. There were plenty of board games for rainy days and lots of lawn games for sunny days. The kitchen was a chefs dream and had everything any guest could need. The host was quick at responding to our questions and was extremely pleasant to work with. We will be returning soon!!

The Red Fox Lake House was incredibly inviting from the moment we stepped inside after our drive from the city. The attention to detail is immaculate. The cottage is beautifully styled with a comfortable, cosy, contemporary lake vibe. The view that welcomed us on Saturday morning was stunning; we didn't want to leave. Katherine Muir Miller's superb artwork was the icing on the cake, or perhaps the oil on the palette! Laura was fast and efficient at answering all of our questions. We certainly plan to return and hopefully for longer next time.

This cottage rental - and the people who run it - are exceptional. The cottage itself is beautiful and recently redone. We are a small family with an 8 mth old and felt incredibly safe and cozy. The activities on site kept us busy and entertained (canoe, kayak, bocce ball, fires at night). Great location - quick runs to Fort Irwin or Eagle Lake and a slightly longer trip (~20 mins) into Haliburton. Hiking trails, activities and local shops/restaurants/breweries with equally amazing and kind staff.
While we did not get the best weather, it hardly impacted our stay. Lots to do inside too from board games to Netflix to cooking in the huge open kitchen. It was really the perfect and ideal getaway.
The hosts are incredible - very responsive during the booking process and especially during our stay itself...even with "the small stuff".
We are hoping to rent again soon and highly recommend it.

It was a fantastic weekend at the cottage. Decor is very modern and comfortable, kitchen is stocked far beyond my expectations with new appliances and a very nice BBQ to make cooking a breeze. The abundant firewood made evenings extra enjoyable. We had no cell service, so having the included wifi to play music was a huge bonus.

Given the time of year, the water level was low (due to dams) and the dock was out, but there's a big yard and porch makeup for it, and the water is still an easy walk in.

No issues, no complaints, what a great weekend at the cottage!
