A short drive from Ottawa, the Calabogie Area hosts some fabulous outdoor adventures.Enjoy hiking, white water rafting, boating, swimming in the summer. Skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing in the winter. Fall puts on a great show with the colours highlighting the natural beauty of the area. Especially magnificent when sipping a local brew at the Calabogie Brewery. The adventures in this area are yours to be had all while enjoying the comfort of home at our all season cottage. The Hideaway can comfortably sleep 6 people. It is equipped with a full kitchen, kitchen island eating, dining area and living room. Enjoy a cozy night inside by the fire, or watching the sunset while sitting by the fire pit. The cottage has 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have King size beds. One bedroom has single bed and crib with the option of switching crib for another single bed or Twin bed. Newly renovated walkout basement with views of the lake, makes a perfect games area and reading nook. A Single or Twin bed are available to use in basement space (upon request).The main floor is equipped with washer and dryer. Main floor bathroom has tub/ shower and walk in shower. Walk out basement has bathroom and shower. Wifi is available with the ability to Chrome cast your favourite Netflix, Prime or Crave shows. DVD player available. For those hot summer days, rest assured the cottage has air conditioning! The outdoor space features a Flagstone patio over looking Black Donald Lake, with stairs down to the dock. Waterfront is rocky (no beach access). The dock is a perfect place to land after swimming, kayaking or canoeing (both available on site).Enjoy a meal outdoors on the deck or the waterfront screened in Gazebo. Upper deck features seating for four, new BBQ and a beautiful view of Black Donald Lake. Explore the numerous gardens on the property, watch birds fly between bird houses or set up a game on the flat green space available for day time activities. The road to the cottage is paved and bike-ready (use caution) or for the ambitious a hilly 7km (round trip) run or walk.Perfect cottage for family vacations, and fully adaptable to suit the needs of a family with young children. High Chair, Pack and Play and baby gates available upon request. The cottage main bathroom is adapted to meet the needs of people with mobility restrictions, with in-shower seating.Pet friendly. Lots of room in the yard to run, and swim!

The cottage is 18 Km away from Calabogie Peaks, with lots of access to downhill and cross country skiing in the winter and numerous hiking trails in the summer and fall. Black Donald Lake offers a great spot to enjoy water sports/activities and fishing. It is a short drive to some excellent white water rafting and bouldering sites. + VIEW MORE - COLLAPSE Note: Black Donald/ Centennial Lake is a beautiful 12 kilometer reservoir lake. It is part of the Madawaska River System that flows from Algonquin Park to the Ottawa River. The lake was created by the construction of the Mountain Chute Generating Station and dam in 1965-1966. Black Donald Lake subsumed the previous White Fish Lake and flooded the former mining community of Black Donald Mines, whose graphite mine by then was exhausted. | Perfect cottage on a Great Lake! We spent a week there and had a blast. The cottage was impeccable, lots of amenities and very family friendly. Lots of green space to play outside. We enjoyed the fire pit area with the sunset in the evenings. A great getaway spot!
