It's rare to find a cottage that is so perfectly comfortable, well-equipped and family-friendly that also happens to be on its own private island. Located in rural Ontario's largest wilderness lake, Bobs Lake, our cottage is midway between Toronto and Montreal. Family-owned for over 60 years, this beautiful cedar cottage is situated on a private 150-acre island. IMPORTANT - This is an island property, you will need to rent or bring your own boat. We can help coordinate this for you.

This lovely bungalow-style cottage is on a flat lot, ideal for children/elderly. The building is very clean with 5 bedrooms. It sleeps 11 if you use the double sofa bed. 2 full bathrooms, 1 queen bed, 7 single beds, 1 double pullout couch (linens, blankets and pillows are provided). The kitchen features: electric oven/stove, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, large water dispenser, microwave, toaster oven, outdoor propane barbecue, and enough dishes and cooking tools to entertain large groups. The dining room table seats about 12. The grounds feature a mix of shaded areas from large trees as well as a lot of sunny spots to enjoy the summer sunshine. The large deck has comfortable lounge furniture and a clear view of the lake and shoreline, watch the family swim and play while sitting back with a cocktail. There is a well-maintained, large grassy front yard where you can relax on the hammock or play badminton/volleyball. There is so much to do! The water is clean, great for swimming and fishing. Swim off the dock or for shallow entry, take a dip from the beach. Bobs Lake is a very popular fishing destination. You can go fishing by boat or right off the dock. Fish species include Lake Trout, Largemouth Bass, Panfish (Perch, Crappie), Smallmouth Bass, Walleye. Bobs Lake is big and there are many areas to explore (we have a canoe for those who prefer a slower pace). A good portion of the neighbouring land is unoccupied (crown land) and the nearby cottages are few in numbers, giving the Island quite a remote-oasis feeling. On an island so large, you can hike through the fields and wooded areas. The island is great for dogs and children since there are few neighbours to bother so they can roam and explore. For nighttime and indoor entertainment, there is a large selection of games. We also have satellite TV, a DVD player, and a selection of movies. Mid-summer can get very hot, you may be thankful for the air conditioning and fans.

Third time's a charm! Well actually so was the first time and second time! Timmerman Island Cottage is a beautiful haven away from the bustling Toronto metropolis, and what a haven! It is like a home away from home for us and our guests. There were times when I was the only one swimming in the bay, except for the loons, the fish, the turtles, the otters?

Vanessa and Dave are gracious hosts, greeting us upon arrival, ensuring the cottage is well-equipped to make our stay comfortable.
Their cottage is rustic but has all the modern-day amenities you could want, especially the air conditioning for those hot summer days/nights.

If you're looking for a cottage that has charm, peacefulness, and privacy, then this is it! Just don't book it when we'd like to book it!

Thank you Vanessa and Dave!

Just had the most amazing vacation at this cottage! The lake is beautiful and clear with great swimming. The cottage is spacious and well set up and very comfortable. Lots of activities to do, paddle boating, canoeing, badminton and much more! The owners are terrific and very helpful. They communicated well with us and answered all our questions and were very helpful with guiding us to the island! We can't wait to go back next year!

We have rented this property for 3 years now, and it has always been excellent. The property is well maintained and well supplied (the cleanest we've even seen actually). Bobs Lake has great swimming, boating and fishing. It's a very clean and WARM lake. There is so much to do - the island is huge with great hiking and a field my kids play baseball in, a Floateh, canoeing and pedal boats (the pedal boats are always a huge hit). We've been fortunate with excellent weather every visit, but they have a great selection of DVDs to keep you entertained if it rains. The hosts are lovely people. Thank you so much!!!

We had an amazing summer holiday with our family! Excellent location on Bob's Lake. Loved the privacy and the space of the island - lots of green grass frontage for outdoor games and walking trails to explore. Great fishing off the dock. The cottage was clean and spacious and the rooms were very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this cottage rental and hope to return next summer!!

We love cottages that are COTTAGES and this panabode beauty was just perfect!! We spent almost a month here in June-July 2021. It took a little effort to get to the area where the pontoon boat was located and shuttle it back to the landing area. Vanessa and family were very helpful with this. Once loaded it was a short boat ride to the cottage.
The cottage creaks and pops when it warms up during the day and cools down at night. The bullfrogs croak and the dragonflies circle around. The loons call out and came to visit daily. The internet and telephone service was poor. The drive into town to get provisions is not easy. Most of the visitors got lost coming into the place.
Some would think that these things are bad to have in a cottage, but our group and visitors absolutely loved this place, the PRIVACY, the SPACE, the PEACEFULNESS, where we could disconnect from our devices and connect with friends and family, read, swim, kayak (I brought my own), go for joyrides on the rented boat, play scrabble, enjoy meals together, go on buggy hikes in the back historic fields. We are already booked for another month in 2022.
