This gorgeous over the water loft space is bathed in sunlight throughout the day. Hardwood floors and wood interior gives the space a true cottage feel. Look out the patio doors to the balcony deck and an impressive view of beautiful Charleston Lake. The three season water front property situated in Charleston Village is steps from the public wharf and boat ramp, 2 full service marinas, and a short drive to restaurants, grocery stores, and other services in the town of Athens. Private covered boat slip ($120/ week on top of accommodation costs. Accommodates a boat no larger than 8' wide and 19' long) Private parking for your vehicle and boat trailer included in accommodation price. Also boat slip rentals at the two local marinas or park your boat at the public dock.
Charleston Lake is a well known fishing destination, the fishing on the lake is great. Some of the species caught include: large and small mouth bass, lake trout and pike.
Charleston Lake offers water sports, hiking and other outdoor opportunities. A short drive or boat ride from the loft will take you to the county park, a great place for a swim or picnic
Charleston Lake has 112 miles of shoreline, and is known for its clear clean waters that reach a depth of 300 feet. Excellent for swimming, canoeing, sailing, etc. Charleston Lake Provincial Park has 34km of hiking trails, interpretive programs, two beautiful beaches and many picnic sites along the rocky shore.
Close to historic Kingston, Brockville, Westport and the Rideau Canal, the Thousand Islands and the U.S. and our nation's capital, Ottawa.
There is no smoking anywhere on the property including the deck, boat slip area and docks. If these rules are broken you may be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
The Loft is a family owned and run rental property. We cater to families and couples that are looking for a relaxing and fun vacation. This is not a party house where you host people for overnight stays and play loud music. The village of Charleston is a quiet relaxing place in the evening and we wish to respect that. | This is our happy place! It has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The kitchen is well stocked, and was recently updated. The loft has an ?old cottage? feel to it, but is very clean and nicely decorated. You can tell it has been well taken care of over the years. The beds are comfortable. The lake breeze is usually enough to keep the loft cool, but for those sweltering hot days, the AC keeps it nice.
We love to sit out on the deck; the sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable! We have BBQ'd many meals out there. The action at the boat launch is fun to watch as well. We have made many friends at the lake, and everyone we've met in the village is so kind.
Charleston Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Ontario. The fishing is great too, and is a favourite for the fishermen in our family. We love boating to Huckleberry Hollow and hiking to the summit. On rainy days, an early morning trip to Willard's Bakery in Athens for fresh hot donuts is something we look forward to. The Charleston Cookhouse is only minutes away. We call in our order and by the time we get there, it's ready and waiting for us. The marina is within walking distance and has ice cream and small staple items. For larger grocery runs, we go to Athens.
The family that owns this cottage are an absolute pleasure to know. We have rented it multiple times and have been shown much kindness and consideration.
We just left today and we are already looking forward to our stay next year!

| This was our first time visiting and we couldn't have been happier. The cottage is perfect! extremely clean and well looked after. The cottage has a great view and good location. The host was very kind and amazing to deal with. I would totally recommend this stay.

| My wife and I have rented the boathouse loft many times now, and we love it. The view of the lake is awesome, and we spend a lot of time on the deck relaxing, enjoying the sun, and we enjoy watching people come and go. The loft has that old-school cottage feel, and it is quite roomy. It has always been nice and clean and there is plenty of hot water for dishes and showers. The kitchen has everything needed to make a great meal, and has lots of dishes, glasses and cutlery. The bed, and furniture is comfortable.
We bring a boat with us, and I really like the sheltered boat slip. I use one of the Marina's for gas, and we get ice-cream and some groceries at the other Marina. If our grocery list is larger, we go to the grocery store in Athens. We also like to go into Lyndhurst for fishing bait.
Charleston Lake is one of the premier lakes in Eastern Ontario and it is absolutely beautiful. There is lots to see and do. The hosts are very nice people, and compared to other rental cottages on Charleston Lake, the boathouse is a great value! We look forward to our boathouse loft holiday every year.

Boathouse was very clean, cozy and well stocked with cutlery, pans etc. The hosts were friendly and helpful with things to see in the area. A very relaxing week..can't wait to visit again!
