What a fantastic cottage! Our family had a wonderful week stay. We swam, canoed, and floated on the beautiful lake and the kids loved jumping off the new dock. We were surrounded by private, quite nature and saw a number of animals including snakes, crawfish, hummingbirds, turkeys, owls, blue jays, and our good friend "Larry the Loon". We also had a beautiful night laying on the dock looking up at the picturesque night sky and counting a number of shooting stars. The cabin was charming and the AC was needed for the humid week that we were there. The owners were quick to respond to any of our questions. It was also very close to a number of places we visited: Ottawa, Renfrew, Eganville Caves, Burnstown and of course Calabogie (if you can, get the Otterman's Cinnamon infused Maple Syrup mmm. at a local shop). I would recommend this cottage to everyone!

A very nice cottage. The cottage was very clean when we arrived. The owners are very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. There is a beautiful new dock with a swim ladder attached. Don't be concerned when you see the colour of the lake. It's a beautiful shade of green- not algae it's due to limestone. When you look into the water it is very clear. It is a small lake so we took our kayaks and paddled on the huge Calabogie lake which is about 15 minutes away. There is a canoe there to use on the lake. This is a very peaceful spot. If you are looking for quiet this is the place. There is a new air conditioner in the cottage which works well and was definitely needed the week we were there. The owners are planning more upgrades which will make it even better. I would rent here again. We are a family of 5 adults(only 4 stayed and one visited during day).

What a wonderful cottage! We had a very relaxing stay. The lake is clean, and refreshing. We spent many hours swimming, canoeing, kayaking (we brought our own), and just lounging on the dock. There are only a couple other cottages on the lake so it is very private and quiet. The cottage itself has everything a family needs. We particularly enjoyed the screened-in porch where we enjoyed evening meals and playing board games. Tyler responded to emails immediately and answered all our questions. Calabogie is close by and we went hiking, mountain biking, and picked up some additional groceries.

We would definitely recommend Tyler's cottage for a couple's retreat or for a family. A great get-away.

Owner response:
Thank you so much for such kind words. Very glad you enjoyed your stay!

This was a huge disappointment.
The cottage is as advertised. Cozy, nothing fancy, perfectly fine if you are not going for a waterfront getaway.
The waterfront itself was dismal. There were discarded patio stones, concrete blocks, and bricks tossed in front of the 'beach.' The dock was 5 feet above the water. If you were inspired to jump off the end you were unable to do so because of the mound of rocks immediately in front of the dock.
There were numerous fallen trees along the shoreline which made any entry impossible.
Our family ended our trip very early without a refund.

Owner response:
Im very sorry you were disapppinted with your stay. We love our peaceful cottage and have strived to keep the interior cozy like a cabin in the woods should feel when getting away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. As for the waterfront, our cottage is one of only 3 on a completely private lake, so i would have to disagree with your idea of waterfront as it is very much a waterfront cottage. I will agree that the current dock is in need of some repair, but being that we have only owned the cottage for under a year it is on a list of projects we plan on upgrading in the very near future. We also chose to keep the remaining shoreline as natural as possible as we arent the only inhabitants of the lake, the logs and rocks provide homes to an array of fish and wildlife, which is something we very much enjoy and look forward to watching while we are there. The beach area is sandy and while it is small provides access to play in and enter the water. Again, I would like to applogize for your dissatisfaction and early departure, but for us this cottage is our little piece of heaven, and our private retreat away from an otherwise busy and hectic life.

Our family spent a week at this beautiful cottage on peaceful Barry lake this August. Our kids had a great time catching frogs, minnows, and crawfish throughout the day. We also enjoyed going around the lake in the provided canoe, or just floating in the lake in our inflatables. Our evenings were spent around the firepit roasting marshmallows and counting shooting stars.
The owner was always quick to answer any questions or concerns, we highly recommend this cottage for a family getaway from busy life in the city.
