Mazinaw Cottage Rental

This beautifully appointed four-season cottage is superbly situated on beautiful Lake Mazinaw in Land o' Lakes cottage country near Cloyne, Ontario. An easy 3 hour drive from Toronto or 2 hours from Ottawa, this property provides the quintessential Ontario cottage life experience: start your day with a coffee and newspaper on the sunny deck, then enjoy swimming in the warm, clear waters of the Mazinaw, exploring the Lake's bays and inlets via kayak or canoe, work on your tan in the afternoon on the superb sunning dock, slide into the evening enjoying your favourite cocktails while watching a glorious sunset, show off your bbq skills and dine al fresco on the deck or 12-person picnic table, and finish the day roasting marshmellows by a campfire. Lake Mazinaw is a large lake (12 km long) so there's lots to explore, yet there is very little boat traffic meaning a quiet and peaceful environment where you can truly unwind and relax (you will NOT be listening to boat or sea-doo engines all day!) Lake Mazinaw is also home to Bon Echo Rock, a magnificent 2 km stretch of granite soaring vertically up to 100 meters straight out of the lake. Truly an awe-inspiring site to take in from a boat or canoe! Just above the water line there are close to 300 native pictographs from the Algonquin tribes that once called this area home. On weekends you can also enjoy the thrill of watching intrepid rock climbers scaling the face, or hike to the top yourself on the well-maintained trail and look out over the surrounding landscapes. The views are spectacular a different every season! The cottage property and surrounding area abound in opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors in whatever manner you choose; hiking, biking, golf, tennis, swimming, fishing or just enjoying the sun on the dock. Come and create your lifetime family memories!

The cottage on the Mazinaw is a very warm and welcoming place set in a little oasis of paradise. It's the perfect place for a family vacation filled with a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities sure to please everyone for hours on end.

The spacious dock contains comfortable patio furniture to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view by day or star gaze and listen to the soft sounds of nature by night. There are also two hammocks and a large patio umbrella for those preferring the shade.

Our family was there for four days and enjoyed everything from swimming in the warm clear water, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing (we bought some gear for our grandson) to playing billiards and fuzeball. We especially liked the small, sandy beach area with shallow water for the grandchildren to play around safely.

Lastly, Scott and his brother, communicated with us very well and replied to our questions and emails promptly.

We hope to return to the cottage on the Mazinaw again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect summer getaway!

Staying at the Mazinaw cottage was amazing! The host was very helpful and available! We did not realize it was the same lake that Bon Echo park was on which was a pleasant surprise. Having access to the park passes for the vehicles was so nice! The cottage was much bigger than the pictures do it justice. The common areas were big enough to host 9 adults and 2 babies very comfortably so you are not in each others space all of the time. The air conditioning was an added perk and very comfortable throughout the whole place. The beds were comfortable and the rooms super spacious. Cooking was so easy as the kitchen was fully stocked and it was a pleasant surprise to see that there was an extra fridge and an extra freezer in the basement! It was a very clean place with a nice size dining table and picnic tables outside. The dock area was so nice as it wraps around and allows for lounging in more than one spot. The water is so shallow that water volleyball and the small beach area for the babies was so nice. The water is not weedy at all and provided a very good swimming area. We used the kayaks, paddle board and canoe and they were all in great shape! We did not even realize what day it was as there was so much to do at the cottage both inside and outside. We had movie nights and games nights and so much fun on the water during the day. There is an ice cream place 3 min drive and a chip truck about 10 minute drive from the cottage. Overall great stay!

Best cottage experince, hands down! From the beginning, owners' communication was excellent. Even prior to our arrival, Scott made sure we are well taken care of and more.
Once you arrive it is very obvious that the place is extraordinary. Each detail is thought through and the significant moments are awaiting.
Like another reviewer said the place looks much better in real life. Very cozy, very clean, surrounded by old trees.  The firepit fenced by stone is a great idea as it protects the fire from the wind. Good quality barbecue.
Brand new dock was an amazing spot to enjoy the sunset.  Children loved the shallow sandy beach.  The kitchen was well stocked, had everything you could possibly need.  Loved our stay, very welcoming. Fantastic getaway.
P.S. Are we there yet?

We spent a long weekend (Thursday - Sunday) at the cottage last weekend. We were 3 adults males with our sons and son-in-laws in tow. The cottage was way beyond what we expected. It was set-up perfectly. A livingroom and a dining table large enough to accomate our group. The bedrooms are as comfortable as being home, with great linens and nice views of the lake. For those that wanted to be indoors, the cottage has lots of space to sit and read, or enjoy a fire. Game, including foosball, pool and darts are available. But the for those that wanted to be outside, you coldn't beat it. The cottage has a great deck at the house, with perfect views of the lake, but the best is the dock and firepit area. Both are lakeside and give you spectacular views up the lake. We had a fire two nights, and the sight of the flames reflecting off of the lake very memorable. We used the kayaks and fished from the far dock. We didn't use the motor boat, although it was available.
I have booked vacation sites in different locations and in different countries and the thing that makes this one special is the ease of doing so. Scott was great to work with. Quick responses to all of my questions, He is the perfect host. The other thing is location. Super easy to locate and as others have said, the park, hiking, LCBO and the Beer Store are all just minutes away. Don't hesistate to book this property. My family plans on doing it again very soon for next year!

My partner and I were looking for a quiet getaway for the last week of September, and this cottage was that and more. The fall colours on the lake, combined with the evening sunsets, were stunning. This is one of those perfect cottages where it feels like it is a special, well-loved place for the owners, but you feel welcome and at-home right away, benefitting from that care and attention to detail. Everything was exactly as described in the ad. Not surprisingly, the owner, Scott, was lovely to deal with, very responsive, and provided us with lots of tips on things to do in the area. There was a great range of water toys and watercraft (canoe, paddleboards, kayaks), and the water around the dock was perfectly clear and shallow, over a soft sandy bottom. There were also two hammocks and a horseshoe pit out back in front of the lake, which we enjoyed. We rented the owner's motor boat, as well, and it was worth it for the excursion to Bon Echo Provincial Park and the hike to the top of the cliff overlooking the park. We would certainly recommend this cottage, and we look forward to staying there again soon.
