Mazinaw Cottage Rental

This beautifully appointed four-season cottage is superbly situated on beautiful Lake Mazinaw in Land o' Lakes cottage country near Cloyne, Ontario. An easy 3 hour drive from Toronto or 2 hours from Ottawa, this property provides the quintessential Ontario cottage life experience: start your day with a coffee and newspaper on the sunny deck, then enjoy swimming in the warm, clear waters of the Mazinaw, exploring the Lake's bays and inlets via kayak or canoe, work on your tan in the afternoon on the superb sunning dock, slide into the evening enjoying your favourite cocktails while watching a glorious sunset, show off your bbq skills and dine al fresco on the deck or 12-person picnic table, and finish the day roasting marshmellows by a campfire. Lake Mazinaw is a large lake (12 km long) so there's lots to explore, yet there is very little boat traffic meaning a quiet and peaceful environment where you can truly unwind and relax (you will NOT be listening to boat or sea-doo engines all day!) Lake Mazinaw is also home to Bon Echo Rock, a magnificent 2 km stretch of granite soaring vertically up to 100 meters straight out of the lake. Truly an awe-inspiring site to take in from a boat or canoe! Just above the water line there are close to 300 native pictographs from the Algonquin tribes that once called this area home. On weekends you can also enjoy the thrill of watching intrepid rock climbers scaling the face, or hike to the top yourself on the well-maintained trail and look out over the surrounding landscapes. The views are spectacular a different every season! The cottage property and surrounding area abound in opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors in whatever manner you choose; hiking, biking, golf, tennis, swimming, fishing or just enjoying the sun on the dock. Come and create your lifetime family memories!

My family and I stayed at this beautiful cottage and we had the most wonderful time. We were a larger family group of 13, ranging in age from 3 to 50. Even though we were a bigger group the cottage never felt crowded and we were always able to share a meal and family time together inside and out. The cottage had everything you could possibly need, or think of, a real home away from home for us. Our rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the bathrooms were quaint and perfectly functional, the kitchen had everything you could possible need to prepare a large family meal. The quintessential family cottage. You could see the love and thoughtfulness throughout.
We used all of the amenities at the cottage and were in the lake at every opportunity, the water was shallow, clear and warm and being able to walk in gradually from the little sandy beach was great for all of us, young and old. Having the opportunity the kayak, canoe and paddleboard was really awesome. The children enjoyed the humming birds and handfeeding the chipmunks and we had campfires and marshmallow every night! The sunsets and evening stars were just a sight to behold.
The owner was so accommodating and very responsive to any questions we had, he also offered us lots of information about activities in the area to keep everyone entertained and occupied! Provincial Park, Petting Farm, Maz Rock, we did it all.
We truly loved it! THANK YOU for the memories and for having us, we hope to be back again next year!

We really enjoyed our week at this large country home, which is a beautiful and fantastically equipped oasis. The large timber frame interior is very spacious and allows lots of people to share the space with various zones. The pictures just don't do it justice. There is also a bunkhouse in the forest in front of the cottage. The basement has a dart board, ping pong and pool table, and foosball table. There are 2 fridges and a large freezer. There are neighbours on each side of the cottage, but there are lots of trees between the properties to provide privacy. There are 2 large docks, 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a canoe, plus a motorized fishing boat (at an extra cost), as well as lifejackets and tubes for floating. The cottage is a short distance from the closest marina (you can paddle there), and a short boat or car ride to Bon Echo Provincial Park. Lake Mazinaw is a clean and clear beautiful lake. The lake bottom at the cottage is sandy, and you can walk into the lake from the sandy shore, or climb down the ladder off the dock where the water is less than waist deep. With the owner's permission, we were also able to tie our jetski to the dock, which allowed us to explore the large lake. Mazinaw Rock in Bon Echo Provincial Park is a sight to behold. We took advantage of the many opportunities to jump from the rocks into the deep lake. The owner was very responsive to our questions, and also emailed us leading up to and during our stay. We'll be back !

We had an excellent experience at this cottage. The cottage itself is very spacious and well-appointed. The view of the lake from the master bedroom is spectacular. We (A family of 5 with three children aged 8-12) had lots of room to spread out and play. The kitchen has everything you could need in order to prepare nice meals together.
The lake is just gorgeous. We made use of the kayaks and paddle boards, and had a great time. We swam in the lake, and it really is a gradual and sandy entry, as advertised.
The cottage owners were very responsive, and made excellent suggestions to help us enjoy our stay. They even went out of their way to set up the loft area in a special way for our family.

Overall I would highly recommend this cottage, and would happily return in the future.

Our family loved this cottage! It had everything we needed - kayaks, large dock, shallow entry with sand, spacious interior, king size beds, kids beds, games room, a/c, wifi, all the kitchen necessities, shady and sunny areas outside, great water pressure, lots of parking space, firewood on site, saw hummingbirds at the feeder, hardly any mosquitoes, great fishing, and of course beautiful sunsets! We had no issues with our stay and the owner responded quickly to all questions. There was no cell service at the cottage but with wifi and a home phone we did not need it. Some of the Adirondack chairs were a bit wobbly but there was plenty to choose from. Great family cottage! We would return!

Everything about our week at the cottage was amazing! The cottage itself is beautiful, roomy, clean and super well-equipped. You can definitely feel the love and pride of ownership in the cottage as every little corner has beautiful details. The views from the cottage are gorgeous and no matter the time of the day the lake and surrounding were very peaceful. We travelled with a group of 10 ranging in ages from 4 to 65 and everyone had a great time as there are a large number of activities you can do @ the cottage and surrounding areas. We played tennis, went fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking pretty much every day and then at night we enjoyed the pool and Foosball table, ping pong and board games. I got to say my most favorite part of the lake was that the water wasn't freezing; you could actually enjoy a nice swim without feeling your brain freeze!
We will definitely be coming back in hopes of making this trip a yearly tradition.
