“Teaghlach" (pronounced Chyeee-lukhh in Irish Gaelic) is our stunning executive cottage on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron just north of Grand Bend, "Ontario's West Coast." Imagine a leisurely morning coffee with a good book, overlooking the lake from the second floor loft balcony. After breakfast in our gourmet kitchen, head for our private beach and the beautiful waters of Lake Huron. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach or on the patio upstairs. Look forward to a lazy afternoon sunning on the beach, swimming or paddle-boarding. "Teachlach" is just 10 years old. It features 3 queen bedrooms with new comfortable mattresses, one on the main floor; a modern, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with wood burning fire place, (spring, fall and winter). From most areas in our cottage there are outstanding views of the ever changing moods of the lake. Outside is a large patio with gas BBQ. The lush lawn area welcomes you for viewing the lake from your chair or enjoying lawn games. NOW, OUR NEW DECK HAS BEEN ADDED ABOVE THE BEACH WITH OUTSTANDING VIEWS OF THE LAKE, great for a coffee and snack to watch the amazing sunsets. Our private beach is the best between Grand Bend and Godrich. Our cottage also offers free wifi, cable TV with DVD/ Bluetooth capability. The finished lower level with large windows, offers ping pong and table games.
Then there is Grand Bend! The hustle and bustle of 'THE STRIP;' water sport rentals on the beach; evening concerts in the band shell; drag racing at the sportsplex; shopping and your choice of eateries and bars; a fine library with free DVD loans; museum; wine tours with tasting and more are just 6 minutes away. Summer theatre abounds at Country Playhouse in Grand Bend or just 45 minutes away in Blythe, Petrolia and at Stratford Shakespeare Festival Theatre.
WE OFFER A ROTOSPA HOT TUB, AVAILABLE ALL YEAR. GREAT AFTER AN EARLY SUMMER OR FALL SWIM OR A BEACH HIKE IN JANUARY. Available for a REASONABLE ADDITIONAL FEE. 2 night weekend - $200; 3 night weekend, $250, Full week $3O0. Read what some of our guests have said about their stay at "Teaghlach" on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron.
* "Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise ..." * " It's a beautiful home in a beautiful setting." * "We would love to stay again." * "Thanks for the time in your small bit of Heaven." * "We had a lovely weekend - even though the weather at first wasn't fabulous. The cottage was so well equipped and the beach is wonderful. Our grandsons had a marvellous time "digging to Australia" and looking for fossils. We played ping pong and in the evening, "Pictionary." On Monday, we were about to go to Bayfield, but decided not to miss such a gorgeous day right there so we enjoyed the view and the sunshine. The boys actually went in the lake, (owner's note: it was an Oct. weekend) - then we had a lovely lunch at the marina in Grand Bend before setting off for home."
A visit to the Lake Huron shore is rewarding any time of year. COME FOR A WEEKEND WITH THE GIRLS TO SAMPLE THE EXPERIENCE. Each season has its own charm. If you enjoy outdoor activities in Fall, Winter or Spring, there is something for you. Here are some possibilities: hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobileing, exploring the ice bound shore of the lake, fossil collecting (as one young lad did last Fall), fall fairs and other "Days," and more, depending on the season and the weather. But indoor activities are available also. Shopping in the Heritage village of Bayfield and fine dining there is available all year long. A visit to the new Cowbell Brewery with its interesting 'accessible' guided tours and fine dining is only 45 minutes away. The excellent library in Grand Bend has much more than books, including a good choice of movies to watch as you relax in the comfort of our living room with the charm of the lake just outside the wall of windows.
