HL (Horseshoe Lane) Cottage is a year round cottage, located along the shores of Lake Huron in the town of Point Clark, where you will find some of the best sunsets in the world. The cottage is 1300 sq. feet plus there is additional loft space above the garage. All this on a large size private lot, surrounded by trees. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people. To increase the sleeping arrangements to 8 people you need access to the loft area. The loft area is an additional fee , $250 per week. The cottage has 2 floors. The downstairs has an inviting large mudroom. The kitchen/ living room is all open concept with a propane fireplace for cold winter days. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge and oven. The living area has comfortable LAZ-boy couches. Downstairs you will find one bedroom on the main floor (queen bed) and also a full size newly updated bathroom with laundry facilities.
Upstairs is a loft area and a bedroom with a bunk (single beds) in it.
In the summer there is a window air conditioner in the cottage, which keeps the cottage at a comfortable temperature on hot days.
The loft area above the garage has 2 queen size beds plus an additional queen size sofa bed. No bathroom facilities in the loft area.
There is a small counter space area with a fridge and a Keurig machine for your morning cup of coffee or tea.
You can start the day watching the sunrise from the covered porch at the front.
Opening up the loft area will increase the base rental fee.
There are many different spots for relaxing, dining, or just listening to the birds and the waves of the lake. You will find picnic tables, muskoka and patio chairs. The backyard is a nice open grassy area with plenty of space for outdoor games and lounging.
A propane BBQ is available as well.
You will love sitting up on the patio above the garage, as you soak in the last bit of sun on summer nights.
After that last bit of sun is gone, you can seat yourself in the (7 person) hot tub, which is under a covered porch and looks into the back of the property. Time to get the last moments out of the day and enjoy!
There is plenty of parking available at the horseshoe laneway, which is in front of the cottage.
The Amberley beach is just a 5 minute walk away. There is also the Historic Lighthouse with its main beach close by.
Centrally located it provides an excellent opportunity for day trips to many of the nearby ports of call such as Kincardine, Goderich, Bayfield, Port Elgin and Southampton.
Please be advised that we require a 50% booking deposit at the time of reservation.
No wifi at the property at this point, but we are in the middle of getting that set up.
The summer of 2024 there should be wifi at the cottage. Until then, you could upload shows on your device, to still have some showtime while you are at our cottage
Please note in the winter months we only rent out the cottage and not the space above the garage.
This means rentals in the late fall - winter - early spring months cannot exceed 5 people.

| 5 stars - cottage was very clean and and well equipped. Lots of toys, fantastic backyard, hot tub and lots of sitting spaces. The cottage is very spacious inside. Beach is very close (8 min walk).

| Stayed in late November, so no swimming in the lake but a great spot near walking trails, beach access.
Private.
The amenities are in great shape, very clean, relaxing.
Communication with the hosts was quick and personable.
Highly recommend this as an option.

| We stayed at Horseshoe Lane Cottage for a week in late August and had a wonderful time. The cottage was very comfortable for our family of four. It really has everything you need and with the backyard space we spent many evenings outside. Also being so close to some really nice beaches meant we could walk just a few minutes and enjoy the lake. We enjoyed quiet evenings reading, soaking in the hot tub, being able to do laundry if needed, making s'mores by the fire pit and our kids loved playing with the toys. Overall I would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to return again for sure.

| We had a wonderful week at Horseshoe Lane Cottage! The cottage was clean and spacious with plenty of games, books and outdoor fun our family enjoyed. The back patio had a ton of sunshine where we relaxed. The beach is a short drive away and the hot tub was a great way to wind down. Amazing stay and would definitely recommend!

| The owners are fabulous - very responsive and welcoming. The cottage is newly updated, very large and sparkling clean. The local beach was very quiet and beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and exploring the local area (Kincardine and Goderich). Point Clark is a very friendly, lovely community!
