WELCOME TO CAST AWAY COTTAGE. Cast Away Cottage is a cozy, 600 square foot, waterfront, 2 bedroom cottage. We are located on the north shore of beautiful Rice Lake, Ontario which connects to the popular Trent Severn Waterway via the Otanabee River. Cast Away Cottage is one of 17 privately owned cottages situated on a 12 acre resort that is offered to rent. Should you require more than one cottage we can help you with that. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people(4 adults maximum). There is one queen bedroom, twin bunk bed and a double pull out sofa. We offer a fully equipped kitchen with all amenities (stove, fridge, microwave, cookware, dishes, etc) and one 3 piece bathroom (shower only). Start your morning sitting on our 300 square foot deck, watching one of our breathtaking sunrises, while being serenaded by the call of a Loon. In the evening kick back and relax, BBQ some freshly caught fish, watch the moon rise over the lake and as it gets darker be awed by the amazing night sky. There is a large fire pit where you can join other cottagers for some singing, roast some marshmallows or just some casual conversation. Known to have the highest concentration of fish per square mile in Ontario, Rice Lake is a fishing hot spot. Bring your boat or just sit on our semi- private dock and try your luck at catching Walleye, Pan Fish, Muskie or Bass. Fishing not your thing, no worries. Cast Away Cottage is a great starting point for day tripping. Visit one of the many attractions in the area like Lang Pioneer Village or Petroglyphs Provincial Park or perhaps a stop at one of the many quaint communities close by.
The resort is only 1 1/2 hours east of Toronto and 15 minutes south of Peterborough.
There is a boat launch, restaurant and gas station only 2kms from the cottage. You can also pick up some farm fresh eggs, chickens or home made pies which are sold by a local family.
Muddy's Pit BBQ in Keene is just 10 minutes from the cottage if your looking for some delicious wood smoked ribs or pulled pork sandwiches. If you drive into Peterborough City, you will find a lot to do including the popular Kawartha Diary Bar, a boat tour of the locks, or Riverview Zoo.
We accept 1 small dog. (extra fee)
WIFI is available, however, there is NO Guarantee on connection strength as the depends on weather and high traffic.

FROM TORONTO
Take 401 east.
Take exit 436 to 115/35N Lindsay/Peterborough
Drive for 58 kms and turn right on Hwy 7.
Take a right onto Keene Rd.
Drive 5.8 kms and turn left onto CR 2
Drive 1.4 kms and turn right onto Hiawatha Line.
Drive to the end and turn right at stop sign onto Paudash Rd ( Gas station and restaurant are in front, boat launch to the left.)
Drive 2.2 kms to top of hill and turn left onto Elm Grove Rd.
Cast Away Cottage is Number 11. Parking is located in front of the fire pit on the right.
SCENIC DIRECTIONS
ONLY FOR DAYLIGHT TRAVEL
Take 401 east from Toronto.
DO NOT EXIT AT 436 but continue for another 28 kms.
Exit at 464 to Bewdley/Port hope.
Make a right and another right at the lights. This is Hwy 28. Drive for 18.2 kms.
( You will pass a Tim Hortons on the right.Keep your eyes open for Prehistoric Designs on the left. If you have time, this is a must see!)
You will see a "Welcome to Baileboro" sign, just pass that WATCH FOR CR2, turn right onto it. (If you like butter tarts stop at the bakery on the corner)
Travel 7 kms and at stop sign turn left and continue on CR 2.
Travel 12 kms and turn right onto Hiawatha Line.
At stop sign turn right onto Paudash Rd.
Top of hill turn left onto Elm Grove Rd
FROM OTTAWA
Follow Hwy 7 west. Just before Peterborough , turn left on Heritage Line to Keene.
In Keene, turn right at CR 2 and watch for Hiawatha Line on your left. Turn left onto Hiawatha Line and go to the end.
At stop sign make a right onto Paudash St. Continue for about 2kms and turn left onto Elm Grove Rd.

| Our stay at Cast Away cottage last week was nothing short of wonderful! The cottage was everything we hoped, and so much more! Absolutely everything you need to make your stay stress free and enjoyable was there. It was so cozy and clean, and topped off with a beautiful view right outside the patio doors to the large deck. Plenty of seating and a great BBQ made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. Eddie is an amazing host, right from the time of booking and throughout out our stay, her communication was wonderful. It doesn't get any better than that!
Thank you for everything Eddie and Cast Away cottage, we will be back!

| We stayed for 5N/6D in the Cast Away Cottage and we had the best time. Just the reset we needed. Eddie is a superb host, great in communication and very accomodating. The cottage is so clean, cozy, compact and complete with all the essentials, and the lakeview is stunning.
We'll be back for sure. Thank you Eddie for sharing your beautiful place.

| This was my family's first time to stay here. The cottage was quaint, very clean, and definitely a 10/10. Everything that we needed from the kitchen to the bathroom was there. Beautiful view from our living room. We enjoyed our quiet time. Our host Eddie was very accommodating and kept in touch with us throughout our stay. Great host! We're looking forward to come back next spring and will highly recommend to the rest of my family. Thank you Eddie for a great weekend!!

| My wife and I go to Rice Lake every year for a week of relaxation. Eddie is one of the nicest people we've ever dealt with. Cottage is just spectacular with everything one can need for a week of relaxation. Every morning we would sit on the deck with our coffee do a little fishing and just watch nature wake up, absolutely breathtaking. From the fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, deck, dock, boat slip, internet, there is nothing that this cottage needs to make a week of enjoyment any better. If we needed to contact Eddie, she would respond promptly. Once again, fabulous cottage, area, and the most gracious host one could ever ask for!! We usually look forward to going home come near the end of a vacation, but not this year. We could have stayed for another week, It just felt like home. Thanks again!! Looking forward to next year!!
