Norman's Landing is a renovated 4-season cottage on a quiet bay of Maple Lake in the Haliburton Highlands. It is so close to the water's edge you can hear the gentle lapping of the water. The fishing is great right off the dock. A guest caught a three foot long muskie! In winter the lake is well known for ice fishing. In summer the over sized dock is the place to sun yourself, watch the loons, or moor your boat. In winter enjoy proximity to snowshoe and cross country ski trails as well as downhill skiing at Sir Sam's. The cottage has spectacular sunrises and the beautiful large dock gets sun all day. At the back, a grassy area and a badminton net are just waiting for a game. The cottage is tastefully furnished. The open concept living room takes advantage of the lake view and has knotty pine walls and ceiling. The modern kitchen is well equipped, but note that there is no dishwasher. The bathroom is new and includes a shower but no bath. A spacious master bedroom has a high quality queen size bed, and a walk out to the deck overlooking the lake. The other two bedrooms are very small and are suitable for children or one adult. Both have a forest view. One has a double bed. The other has a single bed. The waterfront bunkie has a queen bed and small sitting area. It is open in summer only. A canoe, a row boat and a paddle boat are provided for the use of guests. We also have a swin mat. The kids will love it! Firewood for the fire pit and propane for the BBQ are included. In winter the use of two adult and two child snow shoes is included.

| Carolyn was an excellent host and we truly enjoyed our stay on Maple Lake. Maple Lake is part of a 3 lake system, Maple, Beech and Pine Lake. We had a great ride down the little river to the other 2 lakes it was very narrow and shallow but so beautiful. The colours were just beginning to change and we can only imagine full change. The cottage is really well appointed and all you would need is your overnight bag for a stay. We understand bringing your own linens and expected this. The people in the area are very friendly and the necessity shopping is very close by. We did not use the bunkie as we were only 4 persons. The queen bed was very comfortable but the double requires a new mattress. It was very clean and we appreciated that upon arrival. We did use the access to the owners cottage across the way to enjoy the sunsets which were outstanding. The little beach was great as well. There were little planes in the air and on the water as the airport was close by but this did not bother us and was fun to watch. We had little campfires at night right by the water steps away from the cottage. So pretty to see the night sky again without all the light pollution. The dock is huge and we spent a lot of time fishing off of it and relaxing. The boys caught 2 bragging right fish..... one pike off the dock 34 inch's and one muskie in Pine Lake 38 inch's. The girls caught a bit of suntan and lots of relaxation. Hope to repeat this experience soon.

Owner response: So glad you had a good fishing and cottage exprience. Thanks for the info about the mattress - good for us to get feed back so we can make the cottage as comfortable as possible. | |

| We enjoyed the peace and quiet of Norman's Landing and its well appointed cottage. Carolyn provided us with great information about the surrounding attractions and hiking trails and we loved relaxing on the beautiful dock after an outing. Unfortunately our fishing endeavors did not pay off, but we saw many deer, turkeys, turtles and a very large porcupine. We mostly cooked meals in the cottage but treated ourselves to a wonderful meal at the Rhubarb restaurant. We would like to than Carolyn and John for a wonderful experience.

| Norman's Landing cottage was a perfect spot to chill out for a week. Carolyn provided us with all sorts of things to do around the Haliburton area and as we had so much fun at the cottage, we never left the place. We didn't even know what day is was. We love to paddleboard and this was the perfect spot to do plenty of it. A very peaceful and serene setting. Carolyn provides everything you need at the cottage to have a great time and was available if needed. As my granddaughters would say, two thumbs up for this place! We'll definitely be back as we never wanted to leave!

| Highly recommend Norman's Landing! The place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was lovely and had the best of both worlds. You could keep yourself busy and active with many activities available, or you could relax and be at peace. The owner was extremely accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The cottage was perfectly cozy and immaculately kept. I will definitely be booking again!

| Carolyn's cottage was an absolutely perfect getaway. The cottage is great and Carolyn provides all the necessities you would need. The property is great for nature lovers, we saw lots of different birds, turtles, frogs, deer, etc. Fishing is unreal! Just from the dock, we've caught Musky, pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish. We've stayed 3 times now and plan on many more. Highly recommended for families, couples and friends!
