| We had a very nice stay at the Blue Cottage last week! The cottage was clean and comfortable, and had just about everything we could have imagined needing throughout our stay. Our visit coincided with a heatwave, but even without air conditioning, we were able to stay cool thanks to the fans and the nice breeze coming off of the river. The beds were very comfortable, the internet was very fast and reliable, and our oldest child loved all of the different games and movies that were available.
We can't comment on the bunkhouse, the screen house, the deck, or the fire pit as we did not use those amenities.
If you are traveling from outside Nova Scotia/Canada, we recommend arranging with housekeeping to handle trash/recycling removal. We did not do this in advance and had a very stressful time trying to minimize our waste (difficult to do with two kids under 6) in order to take it with us on our 10-hour trip home. This wasn't the fault of the owners, since we were warned in advance, but we do wish that trash/recycling removal had been included in the stay.

| We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint little cottage. Everything you could ever need as far as supplies go. The location was beautiful with the tide going out and coming in right off the back doorstep. We came with our 23 year old grandson and he loved having the bunkhouse to himself. We would for sure go again. Next time we would bring our friends and book both cottages which are side by side. Lots of storage space if you needed it. Got to see alot of the province that we have never seen before. Heather beach was beautiful and only a 7 minute drive away. Thank you for the lovely acommodations.

| This really is a special property. It has amazing views, the best ocean breeze on hot days and perfect, clear water to swim in right in your own yard (at high tide). We had planned to go to the beach during our stay but once we arrived we were more than happy to stay and enjoy the property instead.
We traveled with 4 adults and 2 kids under 6. Highly recommend to any family looking to make memories together, our 6 year old niece said she wished we could stay forever and I agreed! Rental has everything you could need and is super organized, even down to the labeled light switches. The beds were super comfy and cottage is clean. I can't really think of any suggestions they could improve upon honestly!
If you love the ocean and outdoors this cottage is a perfect family vacation rental. Thanks to the sweet hosts!

| We loved 529 Bridgeview. It was comfortable, very clean, and had all the items needed to support our stay (kitchen items, plates, cups, utensils, bathroom towels, cloths). It was just like home. The queen size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The bunk house provided for larger families sleeping opportunities. A second bedroom had bunks in the main cottage. The outside deck perfect for relaxing. We loved our stay. The view couldn't be better and we will certianly go back, in fact we are planning another visit in September.

| I realize this is out of the owner's control but the guests before us trashed the place. We were informed it would take longer to be cleaned and were only able to check in around 4:30. Rebekah offered us to go for ice cream on her and we were originally going to go play in the yard until it was ready but my 2 year olds were cranky and needed a nap. We ended up driving around to kill time until we could go in. The late check in made the first night a write off, had to unpack and make supper do bedtime for the kids. It was hectic. Bunkhouse was smoked in and still smelled like weed. Also found afterward when looking for a baby toy, there was garbage from the night before under the chair cushion. Main bedroom comforter smelled like barf and has red stains that looked like they were cleaned but not fully out. Almost every thermostat was cranked on full (housekeepers must not have realized?). We couldn't figure out why it was so hot, the kids were sweating when trying to go to sleep. Lots of ants!! So Rebekah emailed me to say thanks for your patience and understanding, I said I am patient and understanding but these are the things we've noticed and they really turned me off the first night. She said I'm sorry you were ?turned off?... I don't know who would have felt comfortable/happy in our situation. I felt like we as renters should have either been given the choice to back out of the rental or to be compensated for the first night. We will definitely not be back!!

Owner response: Hello Jessica, I appreciate that you mentioned we offered to buy your family ice cream and arrive at the property at the usual 3pm check in time to use the yard and visit the beach with the understanding that more-than-usual cleaning was ongoing and eventually concluded at 4:15; I'm sorry if this delay made the start of your time hectic on top of the issues left by previous guests. During our various communications with you throughout Saturday your responses were often 'no problem' and 'no worries'; there was no indication to me that you were considering backing out of the rental. We pride ourselves on providing great service and above average facilities, if I had known how unhappy you were on Saturday night, or even Sunday morning, I would have been happy to find a way to make it right or would have been happy to allow your cancellation with no penalties. Unfortunately your concerns were raised to me on Tuesday, after a 3 night stay and on the morning of your check out; this left me very little opportunity to correct the situation. I sincerely apologize for the circumstances that lead to this unfortunate situation. I hope that you and your family enjoy the rest of your summer. | |
