Still Water Getaway is a newly renovated cottage that shows the skills of the master cabinetmaker owner in every room, but the supremely comfortable interior is only part of the picture. There is so much more to this great cottage package.
Located in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands the property is central to many of the popular cottage country attractions such as the Haliburton Forest, several golf courses, Minden whitewater centre, the Dorset Fire Tower and more. Whether it?s for a relaxing sunny summer break or an active winter vacation, the location is perfect to capture all that?s on offer. As an added bonus it?s walking distance to a couple of restaurants.
Facing west, the cottage sits a little above Mirror Lake on attractive lawned gardens. The no-motor lake is small but offers fishing, swimming, paddling with a canoe and two kayaks, and a beautiful setting for just enjoying the view. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well as a hammock, a raised sunning platform and a firepit for evenings out under the stars. On the deck you?ll find a patio table for eating out, more seating, and the hot tub.
Inside the cottage, the front door opens into the dining area, with stairs up to the spacious master bedroom that features a king sized bed and seating area. The bathroom is at the foot of the stairs. At the lakefront end of the dining room a door leads out to a sunroom where you can enjoy evenings of cards or board games, or a quiet morning coffee.
A galley kitchen separates the dining room from the living area and is beautifully presented and fully-equipped with a double fridge freezer, plenty of counter space and all the small appliances you?ll need. The large living room has comfortable leather furniture, doors to the deck and a gas fireplace for warmth on cooler evenings and ambiance in wintertime.
Two further bedrooms are off a corridor leading off the living room ? one has twin beds and the other a king bed and pullout couch. Both bedrooms have sliding doors to the deck and hot tub area.

ATVs are permitted, but guests are asked to abide by the following guidelines:

Waterfront
Grass to shoreline then shallow walk-in deepening gradually. Some weed and soft bottom clearing at end of dock. Swimming is good with no motor boat traffic
Close-By Attractions
Cooper's Lookout Trail. This is a short but very satisfying hike to a lookout over Maple, Beech, Boshkung and Twelve Mile Lakes. (5 mins)
Sir Sam's Ski & Ride. Ski resort with 23 km of trails, scenic chairlift rides, mountain biking, and a new lookout tower planned for 2023. (20 mins)
Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve.Visit a sustainably managed forest that's open to the public (for a fee), with many kilometres of hiking and snowmobiling trails, a lumber museum, a world-renowned Wolf Centre, even take a Walk in the Clouds if you're feeling adventurous! (25 mins)
Dorset Lookout Tower. Visitors are welcome to climb to the observation deck, which is 142 metres (465 feet) above Lake of Bays, and enjoy the view from the tree-top lookout as well as ground level lookouts. (30 mins)
Golf Courses. There are several golf courses within 30 minutes of the cottage, including Blairhampton Golf Club, Pinestone Resort Golf Course, and Haliburton Highland Golf Club.
