| My wife and I were planning to celebrate our 50th anniversary and instead of a large party in a hall , we wanted a place where we could spend a weekend with our children, grandchildren and their spouses. We are from northern Ontario but some of the grandchildren live/work in southern Ontario so we were looking for a central location where nobody would have to travel more than 3 hours. My son searched the internet and found this spot and after viewing the website, we thought it would be perfect. We contacted the owner, Tommy Yin, to discuss the rental. There were no reviews as yet as they had just purchased it that spring so we were a bit hesitant but from Tommy's assurances, we booked it. We were more than 16 but some were prepared to "rough-it" (air mattresses, etc) and Tommy charged a small additional fee for the extra persons. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED: everybody loved the site, the cottage, the accommodations, the facilites (fully equiped kitchen, living room, lakefront with paddle boats, firepit, bbq, etc, etc, etc. We were completed satisfied with our weekend as even though it was early September, we had great weather ,people were able to swim, use the paddle boats, enjoy the firepit in the evenings, etc. On Saturday night which was the exact date of our anniversary, we had a great barbeque supper after which the grandkids entertained us by the firepit with a mock karoake of songs from the 60's . We definitely recommend this place, especially if you are a large group.

| Just returned home after a lovely stay at this cottage. We really loved the set up of this cottage as we have a large family with a few little babies. It was so nice to be able to shut the door between the two living areas so the kids could sleep while the rest of us stayed up without worrying about keeping the noise down.
The walk in beach area was great for little ones. We loved using the paddle boards/canoes.
The owner was great to deal with, very prompt with replies and ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible.
I noticed right away that he had numerous fire/carbon monoxide detectors throughout the house, which was really important to me as a mom.
Overall, this was a great cottage experience and would love to return!

| An ideal spot for a large active family, this cottage has lots of space to do different things. We swam off the dock and at the beach while the smaller children built sandcastles. We explored the lake with the kayaks and paddle boards provided with the cottage, and the kids spent hours on the trampoline in the open play area. We caught fish from the dock, and from our boat in a variety of spots around the lake. Most meals were cooked by barbeque on the deck over looking the lake, with room to eat on the deck or inside. The fire pit is a perfect place to wind up the day, and the smell of roasted marshmallows lingers in memory with the beautiful sunsets.
I was pleased that Algonquin Hideaway provides almost everything needed to relax and enjoy the lake. All we needed to bring was our food and drink, clothing and personal sports gear. Bedding, dishes, games and movies, kayaks, canoes, adult lifejackets are all provided with the property. The kitchens provide lots of refrigerator space, good working area, and a dishwasher for cleanup. Huntsville and Dwight are both within 20~30 minutes of the cottage if you do need something. I recommend this property for its location on family friendly Oxbow Lake, and the variety of spaces to be active or just kick back and relax. More importantly, the owner was very responsive to all my questions including a couple while I was there.

| If you are looking for the perfect getaway from city living, this is the cottage for you! The houses was very well kept, organized and had plenty of entertainment available. The boats, canoes and stand up paddle boards also proved to be an excellent way of exploring the beautiful surrounding Oxbow lake. An amazing place to huddle around the fire pit, take in the breathtaking star-strewn night sky, and spend true quality time with friends and family..... A place where friends become family

| The cottage was as described. There was plenty of space and we did not feel like we were on top of each other. The beds were comfortable and the clean air certainly helped to give a good night's rest. Although the cottage is on the traditional side, most of landscape and outdoor equipment were new. Tommy, the owner was prompt with his responses and the booking of Breezy cottage was a smooth process. I would not hesitate to rent this cottage again!
