Welcome to the Hummingbird Cottage, a bright, very spacious 3-bedroom and 2 full bath cottage/ Executive home (over 2,600 square feet) nestled among trees and surrounded by a semi-active farm with friendly goats. Enjoy your privacy knowing you are only a 4 minute stroll to the breathtaking Lake Huron and sandy beach, and a short 10 minute drive to everything Kincardine has to offer.
The cottage has all the comforts of home, including everything you could need in a kitchen to cook a gourmet meal - a refrigerator, full range, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker, blender and much more. Wi-Fi, satellite and a 50" Smart TV are provided for your entertainment, or you can hang out under the large covered deck - a great space to curl up with a good book while listening to birds sing, enjoy your meal at the picnic table, or challenge your guests to a game of ping pong. Rain or shine, it's a beautiful bright space especially when the sun shines!
After watching Kincardine's gorgeous sunset, if you desire to continue to enjoy the outdoors, the fire pit in the backyard adjacent to the covered deck is a great place to hang out and socialize. Indoors, in the off season the cottage is heated with a wood stove, however an electric heat pump is also available for heating and cooling for comfort year round.
THINGS TO BRING: 1 roll of toilet paper/paper towel will be provided per booking. Bring more if you think you'll need more. A dish cloth and dish soap will also be provided. Bed linens, towels/beach towels, other paper products, kitchen towels and toiletries are NOT provided.
SIDE NOTE: The cottage is on the local municipal water supply, as well as on a septic system. For safe drinking water, Brita filters are provided. We like to maintain an eco friendly lifestyle which includes composting all vegetable matter on site, along with organic farming. The cottage is also cleaned using a non-chemical system to reduce allergies and sensitivities for guests.
* Due to a local bylaw, firewood may not be bought in from any other municipality, but is available to purchase on site for $25/wheelbarrow, or you can buy some at the local General stores.
We also have custom made live edge tables, benches and other wood items are for sale (made on site).
LASTLY, ABOUT KINCARDINE: Kincardine, already known for its amazing sunsets, also has much to offer with many restaurants, live theatre, festivals, concerns, and golf courses. Stores in town include Sobeys, No Frills, Shopper's Drug Mart, LCBO and the Beer Store. In this small town with a Scottish heritage, during the summer month, the famous Kincardine Pipe Bank Parade is a Saturday night tradition that starts at 8 PM sharp, rain or shine. You can also catch the lone piper play up top of the lighthouse as the sun sets, and on the Friday nights of every long weekend, a car show running the length of downtown. So much to see and do!
Thank you for considering a stay at our cottage. I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.
Many thanks, Wayne

| My time at Wayne's cottages was awesome! Both of his cottages are cozy and provided all the necessary amenities. The location was perfect, super green, natural, and about a minute's walk from the beach. Wayne is also really friendly and made sure everything regarding my stay was taken care of. Great spots for Bruce contractors as well as people checking out Kincardine, Port Elgin, or Lake Huron. Definitely coming back :)

| This was a fantastic must see, cottage which is really understated as a cottage and should be called an Executive home away from home, it is really well maintained, has all the comforts of a modern home, including a fully loaded kitchen, piano, massive deck & patio, which resembles a hotel style setting, only its hidden away at the top of a form road which leads straight down to the beach. The host Wayne is so accommodating, he can arrange any thing you might need like additional fire wood, a canoe or some local knowledge of the area. I would recommend this place to very special people as a fantastic little secret get away location.
