ATV
If you are an ATV enthusiast, then Bancroft is a destination you need to know about. Located in the Eastern Central part of Ontario, the little town of Bancroft is one of Canada's finest outdoor playgrounds.

The Hastings Heritage Trail is the corridor that delivers it ALL for quad riders. It is a 156 km multi-use trail that follows an old abandoned railway line which starts in Glen Ross to the south and heads north to Lake St. Peter. This trail is part of the Eastern Ontario Trail Alliance (EOTA) that boasts a 700+ kilometer network of trails that offer an adventurous mix of terrain for ATV enthusiasts. Located on the southernmost tip of the Canadian Shield, ATV riders will be thrilled with the scenic ride they will experience as the trail system cuts through muddy wetlands, incredible forests, around lakes and over rolling farmlands. Checking the map you'll see that the trail routes wind their way from Bancroft into all kinds of communities worthy of a stop and fully equipped to cater to your needs. From fuel stops to restaurants, touring riders will be well taken care of. Bancroft is the perfect hub to get your ride started and has a by-law permitting ATVs on their roadways. You can choose to take an organized tour, or else head out on your own on marked trails, township maintained trails, forest access roads, the Hastings Heritage Trail and more.

I stayed at the Towering Pines Cottage with my family, the cottage is clean, beautiful and cozy. Andrea is a great host and very responsive. Definitely recommend staying here.

Staying at Towering Pines Cottage Retreat is a dream! My family stayed here prior to Ontario's latest lockdown and it was the perfect getaway from city life and the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day. The owners were so friendly and helpful, answering all the questions I had and ensuring that I had the perfect stay.

Inside, the cottage was spotless, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed (from kitchen essentials to well-stocked bookshelves and games). There were plenty of beds to stretch out on and have our own space, fireplaces and wood stoves to keep toasty in the evening, and an outdoor fire pit we enjoyed roasting marshmallows on.

I actually made a walk-through video of the beautiful cottage here: https://youtu.be/cdl_NChOCF4

In town, people are super friendly. I highly recommend Mama DeLuca's (it's located in the Subway on Hastings St). Great food and great prices!

Great place to stay with family in the winter.
Beautiful cottage and surroundings.

This cottage is absolutely amazing. Tons of space for a large group or multiple families. We went in January, the kids loved skating on the lake. The cozy wood stoves were so nice when you came inside from a long day outdoors. Hoping to get in for a summer vacation. Amazing location. Pictures don't even do the cottage or the scenery justice.

If you want to experience that true Canadian rustic cottage feel, yet still want modern amenities, this is the place for you.

Tucked away near Bancraft on a small lake among a patch of massive pines, you'll find yourself a large beautiful cottage. True log construction, massive stone fireplace, this place is big enough to host *at least* two families.

We stayed for three nights in December, and though the weather did not cooperate, this gave us more then enough time to get a true feel for this place; Result? Thoroughly enjoyed it. The new owners are very responsive, the cabin was very clean and decorated for the season, fully stocked up on firewood.

It does get a lot of use (heavily booked) so the owners are clearly challenged trying to stay on top of the upkeep. The little upkeep issues that we noticed (E.G. Dripping faucet) are very minor and not worth noting in my review as they did not affect our stay at all.

Would definitely recommend and would like to come back in the future.
