BLISSFUL HAVEN @ ELM GROVE COTTAGE RESORT. WELCOME to our waterfront cottage. Great Swimming, Great Fishing, Great Family Vacation Spot! This brand new magnificent 1100 sq ft. lake front cottage which is truly a home away from home with all the modern amenities. This cottage is located on the north shores of Rice lake, Ontario. The resort is just 90 min from Toronto. The open concept, neutral décor with elegant furnishings are tasteful to the surroundings. This private retreat is bathed in natural light with lake views from virtually all rooms. With it's three full size bedrooms, two spacious washrooms, open concept living room, dining & kitchen and a 180 degree view of the lake, makes this a one of kind retreat. In addition it also has a brand new 300 square feet of deck space(2019). Entertain friends or business associates, accommodate family or guests - there is plenty of room for everyone. Whether it be fishing, swimming, waterskiing, tubing, hiking, sightseeing, sunbathing, sitting under a shade tree or just hanging out with friends, we have it all. The shoreline and water is fairly WEED FREE with a stone bottom. The slope of the bottom is gradual and the depth of the water is about 5 feet at the end of the dock. The swimming is great. You can fish right off the dock. "Blissful Haven" is a 3 bedroom rental. It sleeps 7 persons (including children). The cottage is only steps from the water and has a direct unobstructed view of Rice Lake. "Blissful Haven" at Elm Grove Cottage Resort is located on the north shore of scenic Rice lake at the mouth of the Otonabee River, a hotspot for fishing. In fact, Rice lake is know to have the highest concentration of fish per square mile in Ontario - common fish are Panfish, Walleye, Muskie, Bluegill, Crappie and Bass.
There is a restaurant and gas station only 2 km from the resort and a church within 15 km from the resort.
Farm fresh eggs, chicken and pies are available by a family all summer, who live close to the gas station on the road that leads to the cottage. You will see a sign while driving to the cottage.
You can bring your own boat(1) and dock it for free with your rental. The Lake connects to the Trent Severn Waterway via the Otonabee River.

Owner response: ThankYou Sherri! Glad you had a good week at the cottage, not taking into account the heavy rains we had!

| Had a fantastic time here. Cottage is exactly as described - everything you need. Very comfortable. Great host/hostess - very prompt on responding to any inquiries. Rooms are a great size. The only thing we struggled with, was finding spots to put our "non refrigerated" items ( pantry items). Other than that - everything else was great - will likely return next year.

| Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage with an awesome view. Had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's great to have two bathrooms! Loved the little town of Keene and visiting Peterborough lock system. People around were very friendly.

| Nice property on Rice Lake. Cabin had a very open living space that would be great for hosting a small gathering. All the kitchen supplies one would need were there. Beds were nice, but had to bring own bedding. If I had to suggest something there are a few places that could use a bit of paint, but this is very minor.
Dock was handy to moor my boat and fish from. There is a boat launch near by, but it was closed. I ended up using a boat launch in Campbelltown. It was a bit far, but not too bad. There was another launch near Keene, and more on the southern side of the lake, but I didn't try those.
I came to fish and caught a nice walleye, largemouth, and smallmouth. Caught a few panfish as well. Carp were jumping in the shallows, but I did not come prepared for carp. Still exciting to watch.

Owner response: Thanks for your review Paul. We are going to be painting the cottage at the end of the season this year. Boat launch is a problem this year for us, since it is owned by the HFN. They aren't letting anyone use it, except their community. It was nice meeting you and your family.

| Nice, clean, bright and spacious cottage with full length windows allowed us to enjoy the lake even during the time when it got a bit cold and rained. The cottage was well stocked with utensils and the two fridges helped. The hosts, Cheron and Delina, were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay there.
