The Old Store Cottage; originally known as the General Store and Post Office of Bedford Mills, beautifully restored into a year-round cottage that combines the historical look & feel with modern amenities. Guests are welcome all year!

A smaller cozy cottage is also next door - Dam Site Cottage is just over the hill and overlooks Buttermilk Falls including the historic dam that served the Mill at Bedford Mills. We had a great time at the Cottage. It is in a beautiful quaint spot. The grounds are well kept, the kitchen - exciting for any chef- with a gas stove and striking cooper hood. There is lots of places to sit, play and eat.
We did a lot of walking, talking and playing board games. The decorating was very well done.
Although it was hot outside, and the cottage doesn't have AC there are lots of huge windows and fans.
A great family holiday .
Hoping to return next year.

Heloise

We had a great 4 day stay at this property. The Old Store cottage is huge! Has a nice size deck, 2 decent size rooms and one smaller room with bunks. The living space downstairs is great with lots of space. The cottage is a short minute walk (if that) to the lake. The water was clear and amazing to swim in. The kids enjoyed playing in the small shallow water area near the dock. We enjoyed our stay with some friends and the kids all enjoyed themselves. Great place for small and big kids. Thank you for a wonderful time. Steve (the property manager) was very helpful both before and on the day of our arrival. We will be coming back!

**We also rented the smaller cottage (Yellow cottage) on this property so we had our own water access. (Both cottages share the dock/swim area). Our friends who stayed in that cottage enjoyed it. It has everything you need and is clean with modern appliances. The falls are quite loud but it's a nice relaxing noise.
Overall, a great getaway and we look forward to coming back next summer.

This cottage experience was great! My new husband and I rented it for a week and our kids took turns coming up for a few days each. The cottage was very well out-fitted (in fact, I brought way too much kitchen stuff because I didn't realize that it would all be there! I see they've updated their listing since then to list what you will find there!) It's hard to tell from the pictures and listing but the dock and waterfront are down the lane from the cottage not right in front of it. Not a sandy beach - a rocky shoreline to launch the canoe and row boat from and swim off of or go in off of the dock. Lovely clear, clean water! We loved it and will return! Thank you!
