Cottage for rent on beautiful Big Lake - Manitoulin Island. We are only a 2 cottage resort on 2.3 acres by the lakeside. We have two (2) large very spacious private docks. Unlike larger cottage resorts with 4, 6, 8 or more cottages, you will find it very private and quiet without the "people traffic" of a larger resort. All the amenities. Come and relax in our 2 bedroom cottage only 150 feet from the shore of Big Lake. The cottage is fully furnished with a complete kitchen, fridge, freezer, new gas barbecue, and satellite TV, and free wireless internet, One queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms. Full & FREE use of Canoes, Kayaks, Peddle boat, lifejackets, fishing rods & tackle, 2 campfire locations - private lakeview fire (in front of your cottage) AND lakeside campfire, bicycles, bicycle built for 2, and adult tricycle, games etc.. Enjoy this private setting, only a 5 minute drive from all amenities in the village of Mindemoya including grocery store, pharmacy, LCBO, gift shop, 2 hardware stores (one with a large sport section), Hospital, laundromat, gas stations etc.. Other luxuries in the area include a beautiful 9 hole golf course, guided fishing, and some of the best hiking trails on Manitoulin.
This cottage is generally a weekly rental, but shorter stays can be made in the event of a vacancy. Please don't hesitate to ask.
For the benefit of all our clientele, we are unable to allow pets.
Check-in at 5pm Saturday, and check out at 9am the following Saturday.
A NOTE ABOUT OUR PHOTOS: We have noticed that for some reason (our camera? or the website?) is tending to "scrunch" up the pictures and makes the rooms appear smaller than they actually are. It would appear to us that one could add 4 - 5 feet to some of these pictures to get the real perspective.

| From the first contact with Dena to our waves "good-bye for now" our interactions with Dena were clear, helpful and so friendly. The cottage was fully fitted with everything we needed for a relaxing, quiet weekend. As it was our first time to Manitoulin Island, we really appreciated all of the local information that Dena provided. One of my highlights was sitting in the cool autumn air by the fire pit and hearing a loon calling; later the star-filled sky was spectacular ... all from the comfort of the cottage. Thank you, Dena! Can't wait to return to Big Lake!

| It was our first time visiting Manitoulin Island and we had an amazing week at the cottage. Cottage has everything you need and very well kept. We had so much fun swimming in the lake, fishing, making bbq and roasting marshmallows over the campfire. Central location to the most tourist attractions. Apart from popular Bridal Veil falls and Cup & Saucer trail we enjoyed swim and local brewery at Gore Bay, visiting some of the lighthouses, and Perivale Art Gallery. Thank you Dena and Dave for your hospitality!

| We loved this private clean cottage with all the amenities including a hammock! Dave and Dena are excellent hosts and very personable! Sunrises on Big Lake are stupendous! The cottage is centraL to all sight seeing places. We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Manitoulin.

| Just realized we forgot to write a review for this stay in 2020. It is so incredibly relaxing that we just booked our 3rd stay for summer2021. This is our home away from home. From the moment we arrive we stay relaxed at peace and feel the stress free living this island gives. Dena and Dave's cottages are worth the stay and we are so excited for summer 2021. Hiking, miles and miles of kayaking, fishing and the sunrises on the dock. This could not happen without the gracious hosts that the Barnes are.
