During the cooler seasons, you will be kept snuggly warm even during the coldest of wintery nights inside Yurt's wool lined interior and our new high-functioning wood stove. In late Spring, Summer and Fall the adjacent cabin compliments the yurt in giving you an additional screened-in porch overlooking the dock. They are both located within meters of each other and you will be assured full privacy on vast 11 acres of private property. Feb 17th GREAT time of the grid! We came here for peace, relaxation, and the great outdoors. This property met those requirements and more. The yurt was well-equipped, cozy (thanks to the woodstove) and secluded enough that you felt away from everything, yet because it was only a short hike and 10 minute drive into town it was still convenient for us to get around and explore Huntsville. Thank you to our wonderful hosts Doug and Orla, we will definitely be back and recommend it to others! All the best, Lauren Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Romantic Getaway
Feb 6th We had a wonderful time. The winter experience was truly a memorable one. It's definitely something that we can cross off our list now. We took advantage of the Arrowhead pass and explored the park. We particularly enjoyed skating through the forest. Meeting Doug and Orla was a complete pleasure as well. They were so sweet and welcoming, it made the experience more special. We were pleased with the two nights and the urge of accomplishing something new was satisfied. Doug was generous enough to extend the third night to the next time we visit at which we were pleasantly surprised by. On our way home Emily and I discussed coming back. Hopefully in October to take advantage of the leaves changing.Thank you for everything and look forward to booking more adventures with you, Carla
Oct 10th Hi Doug and Orla: Stephanie and I had an absolutely amazing time at the yurt. We could not have imagined a better location and trip over all. As far as feedback I can honestly say I would not change a single thing. From the very first contact to the moment we drove away was perfect. Meeting Doug to show us the place was very nice and of course the property speaks for itself. We have many pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. Over the next few weeks we are going to plan a time to visit again, this time in the warmer days of summer and hope to make this a yearly trip. Thanks again for everything. All the best, Randy and Stephanie
October 24th Thanks so much Susan for arranging our visit - we had a great time!! We had a great visit - despite a day of rain - and want to return for sure. Thanks, Krista
August 10th We had a fabulous time. Orla and Doug were exceptional hosts and we were so happy that they agreed to roll with the punches in spite of not knowing we were arriving. We will definitely be adding Lakeside Yurt & Studio to our ongoing getaway plans. Cheers, Raye, Craig and Lola (the dog)
NEW! Nature Tours can be arranged with advance notice. Upon request, we can arrange a variety of personalized on-site nature activities! Some of the educational nature hikes and tours you can choose from include:
A) Wilderness survival Based on the ancient teachings of "the Sacred Five," we will explore the empowering ways to feel and live more "at home" in the wilderness. With only natural materials from the local land, we will: build shelter, purify water, create fire from friction, and find food.
B) Learn Plants through Art Plants and trees speak to us all the time - through a secret language. Magically, it is the same language as art. Through drawing and painting we will learn how to decode this secret language to discover who they are, what they are saying & their edible & medicinal qualities. You can bring the practice home with your own field journal and plant identification kit.
C)Tree Tour Meet the majestic, green giants of the forest -- in this activity-enhanced walk and talk, we will learn trees significant role in the local ecosystem as well as their gifts to human culture as food, medicine & tools. In the context of the last glacial movement, we will read the local landscape to tell the story of its past.

| We have decided to elope somewhere here in Canada and were looking for the perfect place. So we stumbled over this wonderful place. The pictures catched immediately our eye and after writing a few words with Doug and Orla we knew, this will be the perfect place for our perfect wedding. We cannot put into words how lucky we were to have found this yurt and to have gotten to know Orla and Doug. The communication before our arrival was just perfect, they answered all of our questions immediately and were even offering to help us with whatever we needed. On our arrival day (the day before our wedding) we found the place wonderfully and thoughtfully decorated with flowers from Orlas private garden. The area, the yurt, the cottage, the lake just the whole area is AMAZING and BREATHTAKING. Absolute, complete privacy, there is literally no one, we had the whole lake and everything around for ourselves. We were planning on going hiking but instead we spend all the time at the lake with swimming, kanooing, drinking coffee and watching the loons from the dock and enjoying the evening in front of the fire pit. Although it is very secluded, the town of Huntsville is very close. It is a very sweet town with lots to do and also great restaurants. Thank you Doug and Orla that you were having us, for being so uncomplicated, reliable and wonderful hosts and a big THANK YOU for letting us have the wedding of our dreams at your little piece of heaven.

| Dear Doug and Orla, this was our first time staying at a yurta and a wonderful experience it was!The setting, structure and vista over the lake are truly magnificant. It was such a delight to settle into the the generous and most comfortable bed, while watching the branches of the pine and hemlock sway high above the circular sky light in the yurta. The airtight wood heater is additionally a welcomed feature and must make winter stays suitably comfortable and comforting. The dining and recreational cabin, just a few meters down the path from the yurta is more than adequately equipted with bbq,an assortment of dish wear, utensils and work surface. How lovely it was after a days paddling, to sit and take a cooked meal and glass of wine with my life partner while watching the night close over the lake. It was with both pleasure in the stay and sadness in the leaving that we collected up our packs and slowly drove the enchanted road out to the highway. God and good fortune willing we shall return to this part of paradise that you folks have made so generously available for all to enjoy and cherish. Kindness regards

| My girlfriend took me here for my 40th birthday as I enjoy roughing it, her not at all so it was a best of both worlds, very private, the yurt is amazing inside, luxury sleeping quarters, the cabin is perfect to relax and bug free if you prefer to eat at the table or cook on the BBQ provided, also multiple spots to cook over a fire, great dock to have a morning coffee and to have a swim, listen to the loons early morning and at night, waterfall near the yurt to listen to as you sleep, amazing place, dog friendly, canoe and paddle boat included, Algonquin park pass and some cool books likely left behind to read on a rainy day and scrabble, will go back in a heartbeat, but 3 days was to little

| I purchased a two night stay as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and We couldn't have been more thrilled with the stay. The yurt is cozy and warm (thanks to a wonderful little woodstove). Doug and Orla were absolutely fabulous hosts. It was neat reading the journal entries of past visitors from around the globe. We loved the location (hello privacy!) and were treated to a fresh snow fall during our stay which made us feel like we were in a winter wonderland! The snowshoes and park passes were an added bonus! I would 100% recommend this yurt to anyone.

| I have never wrote a review before, but had such an amazing weekend that I needed to share this with anyone who was skeptical about booking! I booked a Yurt weekend get-a-way for my fiancés 30th birthday. I honestly had never been camping as an adult before and was a bit leery, as it was very out of my element. I had the best time at this Yurt. Doug & Orla are so kind, welcoming, and have truly thought of everything you'd need to have a relaxing weekend. Even finding my wallet in the snow and mailing it to me. The scenery is beautiful, we walked away with wonderful memories and gorgeous photos. I felt we we experienced so much in just 4 days. We had some beautiful weather, a rain day and snow; all in the same weekend! The way the scenery changed was just amazing. Our dog was so tired out from the weekend and all the running he got to do: he's still trying to catch up on his sleep! We most definitely will be back again. Thank you so much Doug and Orla for sharing this piece of paradise that you have. It's just magical. :)
