License #311224851 Blue Heron's dining/ living room/bedroom all face the west to what guests refer to as the "million dollar sunset". The open concept living room features a traditional Muskoka stone fireplace c/w 12' post and beams logs that revive the era of an early pioneer homestead. The full size kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities such as microwave, blender, full-size frig/freezer, dishwasher, fully stocked pots, pans, cutlery, and even features a cooking island!
Seasonally, we supply a complimentary canoe from Spring into early Fall and 2 pairs of high-tech snowshoes during the snow months. We are conveniently located on year-round serviced roadways. Our flat level driveway has lots of parking space - No hills to negotiate. Bring your pet free!
Each booking comes complete with an Algonquin Pass which also gains access to the famous Arrowhead trails located just 16 minutes away - Free entrance with your complimentary parking pass we provide. Even closer is Limberlost Forest Trails, Hidden Valley and Deerhurst, all just 7 to 8 minutes away!
We now offer a $25 credit/discount if you prefer to bring your own queen size sheet set(s). The choice is yours - we just need to know at time of final booking. In addition, we supply hypoallergic pillows, toppers, and freshly washed comforters, towels and linens.
Guests are able to choose an optional self check-in and check-out using our keyless entry system. We provide a complimentary supply of firewood/kindling for both the fireplace and fire-pit and propane for the BBQ. Our starter supply lasts for a two night stay - for those that stay longer, we provide firewood on site at a nominal price ;)

"A LOVELY PLACE FOR WINTER OR SUMMER GET-AWAY"
Blue Heron is a wonderful place to stay--a beautiful setting in a wonderful location. All the amenities one could ask for and the owners were responsive and accessible in making arrangements, offering suggestions, answering questions, etc. The property itself was very well maintained, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The location is close to ski areas, Huntsville (a charming town), beautiful scenery, and a lake for swimming, etc., during the summer months. All the necessities were provided and in good working order, e.g. a fireplace, a kitchen with every appliance one could want, a large flatscreen TV a large living room with comfortable seating areas, a kitchen with an island for easy food preparation, wood available for fires, etc. I would highly recommend Blue Heron as an outstanding place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Ontario. BLUEHERON,PERFECT GETAWAY!
We enjoyed your thoughtful hospitality so much and beautiful decorated accommodations. We just loved canoeing on Walker Lake with its quiet bays and open areas. The underdeveloped area at the end with no cottages makes you feel like you are in the interior of Algonquin. Its only a short drive to arrowhead Provincial Park were swimming and canoeing were also enjoyed - Lots to do in this area. The three beaches are great for small children. The 12 mph speed limit make it perfect for kayakers or canoeists who then don't have to deal with speedboats or jet skis. I love your beautiful evergreens by the lake in front of the cottage yet not blocking the view and the awesome Canadian Shield, God-made rocks which abound in this area. Both Walker lake and Arrowhead are perfect for distance swimming because there are no motorboats to worry about. Biking in the immediate Walker Lake road was fun because of the hills. Hello, Susan and Dennis! Thank you so much for your email and for allowing Andrew and I to enjoy your beautiful, lovely lake. We had an absolute lovely honeymoon, and the little extras you gave us made it all the better. The pass to Algonquin park was great - we went twice and got two lovely hikes out of it! We also loved having a bonfire by the lake (thank you so much for the wood supply!) and Andrew enjoyed a superb misty-morning canoe on the lake Monday morning before we left Everything was just perfect and pleasant and we are very much looking forward to making a trip back. Susan and Dennis, It was a great trip, the place was great, the arrowhead park was pretty much awesome (tubing was our favorite but we went skating as well). Our first trip to up north was a success. You have done an incredible job, from the information binder you gave us, and providing a pass to both provincial parks. Truly a spectacular experience. I really couldn't give you any feedback for it was far better than anything we have had in mind. Before we were leaving, we were already talking about a summer trip up there but we couldn't really decide on dates. I will let you know if we decide anything on that front. | Susan and Dennis are without a doubt the most accommodating and cordial hosts we have have rented from. The pictures do not do it justice for the cleanliness nor upkeep of the rental and property, from the modern well supplied kitchen, to the very comfortable bed, to the peaceful waterfront dock. For us this was relaxation in the highest form.
The lake not allowing power boats or jet crafts was also a plus eliminating noise, and allowing a perfect swimming lake along with a very enjoyable canoe ride, but being a power boat owner we just took our boat down to Pen lake a few km's direct from Blue Heron and put in at the free township dock which has a concrete launch and solid dock and a great sand beach! From here a great boat ride all the way into Huntsville or even Vernon Lake.
We enjoyed evening fires by the lake, great local hiking included Limberlost.
A perfect getaway!

| My husband and I and our little dog had a wonderful, comfortable time at Blue Heron.
We enjoyed the privacy, view, quiet, and the spacious well equipped accommodation.
Susan and Dennis are lovely and thoughtful . After the first intro you don't see them again unless you wish to. Answers to texts or emails are prompt.
It's time to go home and I don't want to go!

| We had an absolutely amazing weekend. The cottage and property was extremely clean, warm and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed the indoor wood fireplace as well as, the dock, and the firepit outside. We loved the peace and quiet of the area. We also enjoyed the chipmunk that lived nearby, he came right up to us and took a snack right out of our hand. :-)

| We have been coming to the Blue Heron for many years in all seasons. Susan and Dennis are really wonderful hosts, and the apartment is the perfect getaway for our family. There's a lot to do in the area - Algonquin, Arrowhead, Lake of Bays, Limberlost etc.- or just hang out lakeside swimming and fishing or inside with a nice fire! It's a special place with special people as your hosts. You will love your time there!
