** Please check the calendar on the "Availability" button above... if the cottage shows "Available" on your dates of interest, it is! ** Our guest book is filled with comments like "a slice of heaven"; "we really hated to leave"; "fantastic beach cottage"; "perfect holiday"; etc. Our new summer home is located directly on the beach on the Northumberland Strait in a private setting on seven acres. The location features a beautiful red sand beach and warm, shallow waters, with spectacular long-range views of Northumberland Strait, Cape Egmont lighthouse, Mont Carmel cathedral, the Confederation Bridge, and the distant shore of New Brunswick. The chalet-style cottage is turn-key with all needed equipment provided - you only need to bring food, beverages, personal items, and consumables for a great time! The beach is composed of very fine, soft, red sand, with virtually no rocks or pebbles after the shoreline. June-August the water temperature often is in the high 70's (~24-25 C) meaning you can spend all day wading and swimming in the water without getting blue lips or chattering teeth. The shallow waters extend out hundreds of feet, at which point they are still only waist-deep, making the beach perfect (and safe) for young children. There is an extensive lawn around the cottage for kids to run around and play games. There are stairs leading down to the beach from the lawn for easy access by young and old alike. Waterfront: 90 ft. from the water! Heating: Warm air Children allowed: Yes. Guests allowed: Yes with prior booking/fee. | Stayed at Red Sands cottage for 3 nights with another couple and our Labrador Retriever. It was everything we were looking for and more. Spacious with all amenities. Easy access to the beach and our dog was able to enjoy his private pool.
We were also able to do some cycling with access to the beautiful bike trail only 10 km from the cottage.
Highly recommend this place.

| Once again Jamie and Carolyn had given us the opportunity to rent the cottage for the week in PEI. We had a great time, fresh lobster from the lobster boats down the road and beautiful beach right in front of the cottage. The cottage has plenty of room and everything you need to cook your meals, coffee maker and Keurig machine as well. Comfortable beds, all linen provided and a washer and dryer as well. Thanks again Carolyn and Jamie for another fantastic week!

Owner response: Hi Rob Thank you for your kind thoughts on our cottage. It was great we were able to meet you and talk with you this time. Jamie and I are very happy you had a great vacation. I think you guys had some good weather as well. Just after you left, the tail end of Hurricane Ida came through... tons of rain and high winds. Bridge was closed to some traffic. have a great rest of 2021 and hope to see you back another season. Carolyn | |

| The cottage was perfect! We were 4 adults and 1 dog. We had plenty of room to have some good family time and also provide a bit of alone time with the second-floor sitting room. Main floor rooms offer beautiful ocean views. At low tide, enjoy the beach and shallow water for nice walks. We are a 7 min drive from Union Corner Provincial park. We enjoyed the park for some added swim time. We happen to be there at the same time as the owners that were in the cottage next door, absolutely delightful people. This said cottages are not close to each other, very private area. Was just an amazing family vacation Would return without hesitation!

| We had a dream vacation in Redsands and the cottage was absolutely perfect for us. It was like it was designed for our family!
We were 2 adults and 4 children and everyone had plenty of space to relax or play. We loved discovering the beach every day and the little islands popping out of the water on low tide. The water was really warm! And at night, the moon was reflecting on the water... (like in movies!)
I just can't believe I actually was there and lived all these wonderful moments! Thank you so much!

| My family of four (five with the dog!) stayed at the Red Sands Cottage for our first visit to PEI in August of 2016, and it exceeded our expectations - which were high to begin with! We walked in to see a map of the Island and visitor's guides waiting for us, which was a lovely touch. The cottage was clean, bright, and comfortable, and had literally everything we needed (even to make clam chowder with the clams we dug up on the beach!) It was the perfect size for my husband, myself, and our two teenage sons. The boys each had their own room, plus there was ample space to spread out with the upstairs loft, deck, and of course the beautiful front lawn and beach. We ended up doing less exploring of the Island than I had thought, as we had so much fun walking on the sandbars at low tide and digging for clams. It usually felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves, although a few times we could see others out on the sandbars. The cottage was conveniently located when we did feel ready for other adventures. We drove the short drive to Summerside for a nice walk around the boardwalk and a seafood meal, visited the nearby West Point lighthouse and Cedar Dunes Provincial Park, and played a round of golf at the Mill River golf course. We were always ready to get back to our home away from home, though, and already miss sitting out on the deck in the warm ocean breeze. Red Sands Cottage was the perfect choice for our family - thanks for sharing your beautiful property!
