| We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage from Septemeber 10 until the 18th 2023.
The cottage was well equipped, çlean and comfortable. The property was very private with beautiful views of the ocean.
The owner(s) of the cottage went above and beyond to ensure my family was comfortable and enjoyed our stay at the cottage/ Nova Scotia.
We were guest of this cottage but soon felt like more then just guests. The owner approached us mid week regarding our plans due to the expected hurricane. Their concern was not for their property but us and our safety. We extended our stay by a day and were very grateful for the owners generosity.
On our travel day home the owner checked in with us to ensure we arrived home safely.

| We spent an idyllic month at Ocean Spirit (Sept 2022). The property is large and our dog enjoyed "guarding" the grounds and especially lounging on the vast deck surveying the wildlife. The deck was the perfect spot from which to watch bald eagles landing in the property's trees, Herons by the dozen fishing in the shallow bay and listening to the waves. Sunrises were especially magical. We spent quite a bit of time exploring nearby walking trails and of course the amazing Blue Sea Beach which goes on for miles of pristine sand.
We worked online from the cottage and managed to do our zoom calls with few issues.
Our visit was capped off with Hurricane Fiona which, being from Ontario, was our first experience with such a huge storm. The cottage (really more of a solidly built house) fared extremely well and we came out the other side unscathed. The owners Connie and Gunther were fabulous, taking care to get us prepared before hand with water and flashlights then checking in on us afterwards. We felt really well cared for (with offers of meals at their place, extra firewood etc..) despite the fact that they had their own major clean up to undertake without power or running water. While I don't recommend having to go through a hurricane, I can absolutely say that (our new friends) Connie and Gunther made it feel like more of an adventure than a hardship. Can't wait to go back!

| We took our first vacation since the beginning of the pandemic at Ocean Spirit Retreat and it was exactly what we needed! I could argue that the cottage was nicer than our home, with a gorgeous view - one that prompted my husband to bravely wake me at sunrise just to see it! Connie was amazing - welcomed us, toured us around the property and checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed - including running out to the store on Day 1 so that we would have coffee! She was full of recommendations to ensure that we saw/experienced many fabulous Nova Scotia areas. If visiting the Northumberland Shore again, we would definitely return and would recommend this property to anyone who is thinking of going!

| Given its floor plan and decor this place is more like a suburban home than a cottage. We were immediately impressed with the spectacular sea views from the expansive deck. They were in sharp contrast to the dark and gloomy interior caused by the brown walls and ceilings, and insufficient lighting. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean, however, the comforter was worn and should be replaced. The same applies for the shower curtain. The cabinets in the cavernous kitchen were disorganized and held many unnecessary items, including previously used toiletries. Although we rented for a week we decided to cut our losses and left early. This house would be lovely if these items were addressed.

Pictures of all of our rooms are displayed online to ensure guests know the layout of the house and are content with all of the amenities. Our cottage provides a cozy, rustic, home away from home experience. In order to maintain the historic roots of the house, we preserved the wooden ceilings and walls. We apologize that this was not to your liking. We stock our kitchen based on previous guest requests with tools to accommodate a diverse range of cooking wants and needs. While we try to maintain organization to the best of our abilities, it is not uncommon for guests to rearrange the kitchen to their own liking. The opened cleaning products are stored in the kitchen for the efficient use of our professional cleaners and any guests who might require them. For greater convenience and comfort, we provide free laundry service. Throughout your stay we ensured that you had clean towels and linens, as well as checked in with you multiple times to ensure that you were satisfied with everything. We were led to believe you had a pleasurable stay and were told other reasons for your one day early departure.
